Colorado State University has distributed $1,500 checks to hundreds of undocumented students to help the student population out during the coronavirus pandemic.
Undocumented students are not eligible for COVID-19 federal aid through the CARES Act, so the public university used state funding and other sources to help its illegal immigrant students. Last week Illinois Democrat Governor J. B. Pritzker warned the people of Illinois the state in lockdown and businesses shut down until the end of May. Researchers from the top economics school in the United States are warning that they estimate that 42% of the 36.2 million Americans who have lost their jobs over the past 10 weeks will not regain their jobs.
The report titled “COVID-19 Is Also a Reallocation Shock,” issued by the University of Chicago’s Becker Friedman Institute found that while workers’ former jobs are not coming back, there are some growing job sectors. The city of Chicago blocked parking at some churches’ lots Sunday in order to enforce Illinois’s stay-at-home order.

The Oregon Supreme Court overruled a judge’s order stopping the governor’s statewide coronavirus restrictions late Monday.
State Supreme Court Presiding Justice Thomas A. Balmer granted the state’s emergency motion to hold the lower court’s injunction designating the state coronavirus restrictions “null and void,” Oregon Live reported. Balmer ruled the hold will remain in place until the higher court reviews the state’s petition to dismiss the lower judge’s ruling.
