WASHINGTON— The Environmental Protection Agency announced so-called “emergency” approvals today to spray sulfoxaflor — an insecticide it considers “very highly toxic” to bees — on nearly 14 million acres of crops known to attract bees.

The approval includes 2019 crops of cotton and sorghum in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.) has joined Senators Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) and Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) to introduce a bill that would outlaw the online distribution of blueprints and instructions that allow for the 3D printing of firearms. Kaine has been pushing the Senate and Virginia’s General Assembly to pass gun safety legislation in the aftermath of the Virginia Beach shooting, including bills to close loopholes in the background check system. It happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday on the overpass at County Highway K.

(CN) – California lawmakers advanced a bill Tuesday to allow judges to restrict someone’s access to guns if they pose a danger to themselves or others, despite concerns from community groups that the bill may violate civil rights.

At the start of World Refugee Week, Sajid Javid confirmed the UK plans to resettle in the region of 5,000 of the world’s most vulnerable refugees in the first year of the new scheme, once the flagship Vulnerable Person’s Resettlement Scheme concludes next year.

After a tsunami of skepticism swept over the media following the Pentagon’s release of a dubious video supposedly showing Iranians removing a mine from the hull of a tanker, the generals followed up with a color version of basically the same video. Like the first video, the second color video doesn’t show much of anything.
