Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser reminded local law enforcement that they swore an “oath to uphold the rule of law” in a statement Thursday. The reminder comes after numerous counties have passed resolutions denouncing “red flag” gun control legislation that’s expected to pass.

House Bill 1177 would allow family members or law enforcement to petition a judge to issue a temporary extreme risk protection order (ERPO) for a person thought to be a threat, after which the person’s weapons could be temporarily seized for up to a year. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) seeks to incentivize states to adopt Red Flag Laws allowing gun confiscation.

On Saturday, Breitbart News reported that Graham had given Democrats a green light for a March 26 hearing on the confiscatory gun laws. A federal appeals court has put a roadblock in front of the government’s attempt to appeal a district judge’s decision to throw out its case against Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy on the grounds of prosecutorial misconduct.

Bundy and other family members were charged after an armed standoff at their ranch over grazing fees the government claimed they had not paid. The government confiscated some of the family’s cattle, supporters from across the nation gathered and the standoff ensued.
