A Tesla driver in Utah whose vehicle slammed itself into a stopped fire truck at a red light earlier this year is now suing the company, claiming that when she bought the car she was told that it would stop on its own if the Autopilot was on and something was in the vehicle’s path. France’s top military chief has said Paris is ready to bomb Syria if chemical weapons are used during the Syrian government’s retaking of Idlib province. It comes a week after Russia warned the US of a pending false flag attack.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Police say four people are dead, including the gunman, in a downtown Cincinnati bank shooting.
Police Chief Eliot Isaac said the shooter opened fire early Thursday morning at the loading dock of the Fifth Third Bank building. Isaac said the gunman then entered the bank’s lobby where he exchanged gunfire with police. It’s unclear if the gunman shot himself or was shot by officers. Ford is recalling nearly 2 million of its popular F-150 pickups due to a problem with seatbelt pretensioners that could result in smoke, and possibly even a fire inside the vehicle.

Toyota is recalling more than a million Prius and C-HR hybrids worldwide due to a fire risk. Around 192,000 Prius vehicles in the US and more than 550,000 cars in Japan are involved in the recall, which is related to wiring connected to the power control unit. Insulation may wear down over time, potentially leading to a short circuit that could ultimately cause a fire.

Apple may be bracing to ship 20% fewer iPhones later this year after its newest models, specs of which leaked earlier this week, finally hit the market, but that doesn’t mean the cultural cache of owning an iPhone has in any way diminished. While reports of a decline in component orders earlier this yearcould be chalked up to market saturation or the higher price point (consumers could be asked to shell out as much as $1,400 for the most expensive new models, according to reports that have been circulating since before last year’s launch), an interesting new survey by WalletHub revealed that many American handset owners simply don’t care about the price. Pennsylvania prisons have begun letting up on the systemwide lockdown sparked late last month by a series of alleged drug exposure incidents officials blamed on synthetic marijuana soaked into books and letters.
More than three dozen guards at 10 of the state’s 25 prisons were sickened over the course of a month, corrections officials told Penn Live. None of the staffers needed extended hospital stays, but in response, on Wednesday the prison system cut off all visitation and non-legal mail and locked inmates in their cells indefinitely. Ten people were taken to the hospital Wednesday after an Emirates Airline plane from Dubai — carrying more than 500 passengers and apparently rapper Vanilla Ice — landed in New York City with about 100 passengers and crew members feeling ill, officials said.
Nine others who were sickened were evaluated and refused further medical attention, Eric Phillips, spokesman for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, said.

California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill into law that allows illegal immigrant students to hold elected positions on California college boards as long as they qualify for in-state tuition.
The bill, AB1887, was signed on Aug 24 and permits students, who are illegally residing in the United States, to “serve on any board or commission […] that relate to public elementary and secondary education and that includes members who are pupils or minors,” provided they are eligible for in-state tuition or are otherwise exempt from paying non-resident tuition. The question often arises in liberty movement circles as to how we get to the point of full blown tyranny within a society. There are numerous factors that determine this outcome, but through all the various totalitarian systems in history there are common denominators – elements that must be there for tyrants to prevail.
