A $5,000 reward is being offered by the Air Force for the return of a box of grenade rounds that accidently dropped on a North Dakota road from a vehicle driven by an airman from the 91st Missile Wing Security Forces team, The Washington Post is reporting.

The vehicle was traveling between two intercontinental ballistic missile sites on May 1 when the back hatch of the vehicle opened and the container of explosive ammunition fell out. An Illinois school resource officer stopped an armed teenager at a high school this morning, according to the local police chief, who applauded the officer for saving “countless” lives.

The RCMP mistakenly issued licenses to 1,356 people granting them authority to purchase “prohibited” class handguns — and then didn’t notice the error for 12 years.

During that time, 41 of the people issued those licenses in error used them to buy 114 semi-automatic pistols and revolvers.

The resignation of the Baltimore Police Commissioner, charged by federal prosecutors for failing to file federal tax returns, has sparked fierce public debate over how the issue has been handled and the mayor’s credibility.

The 53-year-old commissioner, Darryl De Sousa, left the office after a mere four months into the job. De Sousa was suspended last Friday after a federal investigation revealed that he had willfully failed to file federal tax returns for 2013, 2014 and 2015. RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Thousands of teachers are set to hit the streets of North Carolina’s capital on Wednesday, determined to force a political showdown over wages and funding priorities for public school classrooms in this conservative, tax-cutting state.

As many as 15,000 teachers were expected to defy forecasts of rain for a rally in Raleigh as the Republican-dominated state legislature begins its annual session.
