Apparently, Nelson – who is 83 years old – became disoriented during his performance at Nelson’s New Braunfels. The CIA has denied that it has any information about intelligence budget-line items earmarked for Israel between 1990 and 2015—a claim which a federal judge in Washington DC has dismissed as “neither logical nor plausible.”
According to a report by the Courthouse News Service (“CIA Hammered After Shrug on Israel Records”), the ruling came in response to a Freedom of Information Act request from the director of the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy who asked for the information back in March 2015. Two leading U.S. news outlets reported on Wednesday on business ties totaling tens of millions of dollars between the family of Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, and the Steinmetz family, one of the richest families in Israel which made most of its fortune in the diamond industry in recent decades.
According to reports published in Bloomberg and in the New York Times, the ties between the two families include high-stake real estate deals in Manhattan worth more than $150 million. Bloomberg says at least 15 different buildings in downtown Manhattan are co-owned by Raz Steinmetz, nephew of diamond dealer Beny Steinmetz, and by Kushner family’s Kushner Companies. The two also invested together in a project bearing President Trump’s name in New Jersey, according to the report. On this day, April 27th, in 1773, the British Parliament passes the Tea Act, a bill designed to save the faltering East India Company from bankruptcy by greatly lowering the tea tax it paid to the British government and, thus, granting it a de facto monopoly on the American tea trade. Because all legal tea entered the colonies through England, allowing the East India Company to pay lower taxes in Britain also allowed it to sell tea more cheaply in the colonies. Even untaxed Dutch tea, which entered the colonies illegally through smuggling, was more expensive the East India tea, after the act took effect. he Mexican Foreign Minister said Tuesday that construction of a border wall separating the U.S. and Mexico is a “hostile” act.
Luis Videgaray Caso, the foreign minister, not only labeled construction as hostile, but stated that Mexico will refuse to contribute in any way to the border wall, Reuters reports.

A French policeman has been shot dead by his colleague in a tragic accident, according to reports.

A Mexican illegal immigrant who was deported 16 years ago is said to have snuck back into the US where he raped a nine-year-old girl as she was sleeping.
Santiago Martinez-Flores, 48, is accused of breaking in through a window in Clackamas and sexually assaulting the child in a bedroom she shared with her five-year-old sister.

A congressional committee on Thursday asked the Justice Department to consider criminally prosecuting a technology services company that was involved in maintaining a private email server for Hillary Clinton.

In one of the most striking reversals for President Trump to date, as reported earlier, just hours after the White House said the president is contemplating terminating NAFTA before his 100th day, sending the loonie and peso crashing, Trump reversed his position and as Bloomberg put it, made a “huge U-turn” in his NAFTA stance, allowing the trade agreement to continue after he spoke with the presidents of Mexico and Canada about ways to renegotiate the accord. A confidential memo from the United Nations, sent shortly after Trump moved into the White House, made an “urgent appeal” to the Trump administration that a repeal of Obamacare could violate international law. Oh yeah, and it would also be racist as well. Unfortunately, this is not hyperbole.

Dozens of people gathered in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday to protest the detention of a 54-year-old woman who now faces deportation for living in the country illegally.
Teresa Vidal-Jaime was picked up by federal authorities Monday after a massive drug bust at a Boyle Heights apartment complex where she lives. During the raid, her husband was arrested for drug possession and investigators seized more than 30 pounds of cocaine and $600,000 in cash, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.
