MICHIGAN — Hundreds of thousands of parents have been flagged as “child abusers” in a huge database maintained in secret by Michigan’s Child Protective Services (CPS) agency.   The names are entered into the database without due process, without a judicial hearing, without an opportunity for defense, without a conviction, and without even letting the individuals know they have been targeted.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Law enforcement officials raided the office and home of House Speaker Gordon Fox on Friday as part of an investigation by the U.S. attorney’s office, the FBI, IRS and state police.

Authorities entered Fox’s Statehouse office carrying an evidence bag and empty cardboard boxes Friday morning. This is the touching moment a giraffe bid a sad farewell to a dying worker who had spent his entire adult life cleaning the animal’s enclosure at a Dutch zoo.

The 54-year-old maintenance worker, who has terminal cancer, asked that his hospital bed be wheeled into the giraffe enclosure at Rotterdam’s Diergaarde Blijdorp zoo.

The Illinois Supreme Court has struck down the state’s broad eavesdropping law that prohibited the audio recording of any person, public or not, without consent. Opponents of the law said it chilled free speech and the ability to watch law enforcement.

But she’s ready to leave that behind, including the job-based health benefits, to move to Oregon and promote her self-published book. Yet, four gunmen walked in, made their way to the restaurant, pulled out hidden pistols and started shooting diners, officials said Friday. A user from the popular image sharing site imgur has uploaded a series of photos showing food lines in Venezuela. The lines are undoubtedly the result of new price controls that President Nicolas Maduro has instituted as an effort to tame inflation.

The “Fair Price Law” is causing devastating shortages due to the fact that by putting caps on prices eliminates the the first law of economics, supply and demand.
