Boing Boing – by Trevor Timm

US Customs and Border Patrol agents can detain American citizens for hours and seize laptops and phones without evidence or suspicion of wrongdoing. This has happened to a number of journalists, and press advocates worry that the frequency of these incidents is increasing.

On The Media dedicated its whole program this week to addressing a growing and disturbing problem: the suspension of constitutional rights at the US border, where Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) can detain US citizens for hours and seize their electronic devices without any suspicion of wrong doing. Perhaps worse, the policies and practices of CBP are extremely secretive and in many ways unaccountable, and Freedom of Information Act requests to the agencies are largely stonewalled or ignored.   Continue reading “Suspicionless searches at US border: the next battleground for press freedom”

“The American public called PBS the most trusted source for news and public affairs programs and the most ‘fair’ source for news coverage.” – PBS, February 20, 2014

Last month, in response to Pando’s revelations that anti-pension mogul John Arnold secretly was financing PBS’s “Pension Peril” series, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting issued a scathingreport demanding immediate reform. Criticizing “the lack of transparency” at PBS, CPB’s ombudsman Joel Kaplan declared that public broadcasting outlets must let the public access details of their financial dealings.   Continue reading “After pledging transparency, PBS hides details of new deal with billionaire owner of NewsHour”

A “covert” operation differs from a “clandestine” operation in that the former seeks to hide the identity of the operation’s sponsor, while the latter seeks to hide the operation itself. See Joint Pub 1-02, Department of Defense Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms, 1 December 1989. A clandestine operation, if properly conducted, remains totally concealed. The authorities in the target area never know that anything happened. A covert operation, on the contrary, must have a product. For this reason the service carrying out a covert operation knows from the start that it cannot keep the activity itself a secret; it aims instead for plausible denial.   Continue reading “Covert Operations”

Vitamin DNatural News – by L.J. Devon

As various amounts of aluminum begin showing up in food products tested at the Consumer Wellness Center Forensic Food Lab, it’s becoming clear how metals like aluminum can build up unnecessarily in the body, taxing the organs over time.

A percentage of ingested aluminum is naturally retained by the food going in as it passes through the body. This is denoted by the metal retention factor, a concept discovered in gastric acid solution, pioneered by lab director Mike Adams. (Higher metal retention factor is better.)   Continue reading “Active vitamin D helps remove toxic aluminum in chronic kidney disease patients”

Type-1 diabetes, celiac disease, multiple sclerosis plus many other autoimmune diseases are on the rise and conventional medicine says there’s ‘no cure’. Once again, and I say this respectfully, it’s simply not true what you’ve been told. To resolve these serious health conditions – one must look at their immediate surroundings for a natural solution.   Continue reading “Autoimmune diseases can be cured naturally”

Yesterday, the New Hampshire house passed a bill to thwart some of the actions of the growing surveillance state. House Bill 1533 (HB1533), which bans the use of any information obtained from a “portable electronic device” such as mobile phone in “a criminal, civil, administrative, or other proceeding,” passed by a voice vote and now moves on to the senate for further consideration.   Continue reading “New Hampshire House Passes Bill to Ban Use of Warrantless Data”

Globalists and Gangs Back Marxist Mass-murderer in El SalvadorThe New American – by Alex Newman

With brazen backing from the globalist establishment, socialist despots, as well as U.S. and international crime syndicates, “former” communist-terrorist “commander” Salvador Sánchez Cerén of the Obama administration-subsidized FMLN appears set to win the presidency in El Salvador’s upcoming runoff election this weekend. If he wins, as is widely expected based on recent polls, the mass-murderer — a close ally of the communist Castro regime in Cuba — will become the latest ex-Marxist guerrilla to lead a U.S. taxpayer-funded Latin American national government.   Continue reading “Globalists and Gangs Back Marxist Mass-murderer in El Salvador”

Our legal system criminally protects Obama’s ineligibility

Vetting: to examine or scrutinize, as an expert. Federal judge James Robertson (US District Court-Wash. D.C.) threw out a lawsuit challenging Obama’s “Presidential eligibility” by saying Obama’s citizenship was “thoroughly vetted and massaged by America’s vigilant citizenry during his two year presidential campaign.” This statement was completely false, whether made deliberately or out of ignorance. Obama (then Senator) had his attorneys block the release of any document which, if valid, should have been able to confirm his eligibility. Presidential “vetting” is not exercised by America’s vigilant citizenry”, but by elected representatives who are charged with obeying The Constitution.    Continue reading “Transparency – Barack Obama’s Best-Kept Secret: Part 8”

HAIFA, ISRAEL –  Questions continue to swirl around a shipment of Iranian missiles the Israeli navy intercepted near Sudan, with experts saying the weapons’ true destination might reveal a hidden agenda in Tehran.

A tricky trail of paperwork and the circuitous route of the Panama-flagged ship found to be carrying lethal M-302 missiles from Iran showed a major effort to hide the cargo and the parties involved. The Israeli Defense Forces say the weapons aboard the ship, now being towed to the southern Israeli port of Eilat on the Red Sea, were bound for the terrorist enclave of Gaza via the Sinai Peninsula.   Continue reading “Mystery surrounds intercepted Iranian missile shipment”

Russian Soldiers in Ukraine Military BaseAOL

(Reuters) – Russia said any U.S. sanctions imposed on Moscow over the crisis in Ukraine will boomerang back on the United States and that Crimea has the right to self-determination as armed men tried to seize another Ukrainian military base on the peninsula.
