The self-driving cars that could soon dominate our roads, perhaps even making human-driven ones illegal some day, could end up being programmed to kill you if it means saving a larger number of lives.

This is routed in a classic philosophical thought experiment, the Trolley Problem.   Continue reading “Self-driving cars may have to be programmed to kill you”

HOLLYWOOD, CA – The silver screen’s most elite names and faces gathered at a discrete location last night, to discuss their disastrous participation in Michael Bloomberg’s first annual Gun Violence Awareness Day on June 2nd.

The stars had every reason to be concerned after their collective wearing of orange shirts to commemorate all those who have lost their lives to gun violence went largely unnoticed by the general public.   Continue reading “Hollywood elite to erect memorial to all dead home invaders”

FLINT, MI (WNEM) – It was a peaceful afternoon, and then residents said it seemingly turned hostile.

“I was standing there, and all of a sudden, boom!” Jean Glenn said.

“I mean it was loud, it blew up the whole sky or whatever, it was like four or five big bangs,” Annette Humphrey said.   Continue reading “City says loud explosions were Army training exercise”

Target Liberty

As I have reported, Rand Paul, on Sunday in Senate floor comments during his blockage of the bill that would allow NSA bulk data collection to go on, called for an increase in the number of FBI agents by 1,000.

According to the latest data from the FBI, there are currently 13,455 FBI special agents. Thus, Rand is calling for an increase in the number of agents by 7.4%.

For those who have been cheering on Rand’s so-called battle against Big Government, this is a stunning move by the Senator. It will be very difficult for true libertarians to defend. And, as I have said, it strongly suggests that Rand has no true libertarian instincts.   Continue reading “On Rand Paul’s Call to Increase the Number of FBI Agents by 7.4%”

Several places are now reporting a very disconcerting claim about the justice system in Waco Texas requesting detainees sign waivers promising not to sue the city for unlawful arrest, detention, and civil rights violations.

One law firm has posted the following on their Facebook page outlining the demand:   Continue reading “Update Waco “Twin Peaks” Shooting – Waco Authority Demanding Liability Waivers Prior To Bond Reductions…”

Binyamin Netanyahu at the Likud ConferenceArutz Sheva – by Ari Yashar, May 9, 2014

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu reportedly revealed at a Likud conference on Wednesday some remarkable facets of the Basic Law he submitted last Thursday, which would enshrine Israel’s status as the nation-state of the Jewish people.

Netanyahu told the head of Likud’s hareidi division Yaakov Vider at the conference that he intends to make the Hebrew calendar, which is based on Jewish law, the official calendar of Israel, reports Kikar Hashabat.   Continue reading “Report: Netanyahu Promises Talmud Will Be Israeli Law”

The Wall Street Journal is calling the dramatic end of America’s two-decade-long drop in crime “The Ferguson Effect.” Led behind the scenes by President Obama, America’s fraudulent civil rights leaders (Al Sharpton) and the mainstream media (especially CNN), worked together — starting with their lies in Ferguson — to launch hate campaigns against the police.

The result is an empowered criminal element and by extension a horrific increase in murders, shootings, and other violent crimes:   Continue reading “‘Ferguson Effect’: America’s New Crime Wave Is All Part of the Plan”

I have written about the cop plague in America for years and a number of readers have asked to see all the essays compiled in one place. Alas, I have written so many I can’t keep track of them but if an enterprising reader were to take the time to catalog them, I’d be happy to put them in one place along with the media appearances where this grisly subject is entertained. You’ll find a brief summary of some of them at the end of this essay.

I’d like to make several new observations.   Continue reading “US Policing: The Existential Threat to All Human Liberty in North America by Bill Buppert”

Last week, former NSA intelligence analyst John Schindler posted a rather disturbing tweet. With a statement that one could only assume to be a reference towards Russia, Schindler wrote “Said a senior NATO (non-US) GOFO to me today: “We’ll probably be at war this summer. If we’re lucky it won’t be nuclear.” Let that sink in.”   Continue reading “Senior NATO Official Claims We’ll Be at War by Summer”

Gun Watch – by Dean Weingarten

I am mostly recovered from a nasty virus that I caught from my six month old grandson.  At times I was sleeping, or attempting to, 20 hours a day,  I could handle necessary chores, but simply trying to avoid coughing enough to breath comfortably, left me weak, and feeling too tired to exert myself.  Walking a couple of hundred yards was exhausting.    Continue reading “Open Carry While Old, Sick, and Tired”

Western Rifle Shooters – by Matthew Bracken, July 30, 2010

A second civil war in the United States would be an unparalleled disaster. Nobody who is sane and who has studied modern civil wars from Spain to Lebanon to the Balkans and beyond would ever wish to see one occur. But if political, cultural and demographic trends are sweeping us toward that unhappy destiny, it would be wise to at least cast a weather eye over the possible terrain.

First, a caveat. I am not going to waste our time making politically-correct genuflections after every controversial sentence, because this essay is intended to be read by mature and rational adults.   Continue reading “The CW2 Cube — Mapping The Meta-Terrain Of Civil War Two”

The Waco Police MassacreThe Aging Rebel

A shoving match in a bathroom at a Confederation of Clubs meeting in Waco, Texas exploded into a war yesterday. Nine people were killed, 27 people were injured, 17 were hospitalized, two are listed in critical condition, and 160 men were arrested following a brawl at a chain restaurant in a shopping center on the South Jack Kultgen Espressway.

The fight resulted from a long simmering dispute between members of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club and the Cossacks and the Scimitars Motorcycle Clubs. Curtis Jack Lewis, president of the Abilene chapter of the Bandidos, and Wesley Dale Mason, the chapters’ sergeant at arms, were accused of stabbing two Cossacks outside Logan’s Roadhouse in Abilene in November 2013. The two Bandidos were charged with aggravated assault in March 2014. The Scimitars are in the process of patching over to the Cossacks.   Continue reading “The Waco Police Massacre”

Not My Tribe – by Eric Verlo

Was the Waco Shoot-out a gunfight between rival gangs or an ambush laid by law enforcement? Police are monopolizing the testimony but the evidence suggests a barroom brawl became a pretext to kill or arrest essentially grassroots organizers, now charged with “organized crime”. Investigators can litter the crime scene with brass-knuckles and knives but the shell casings are going to be police issue. Motorcycle headlights were on, indicating club members were trying to leave. Police claim that the brawlers redirected their fire toward officers, but did that happen while the bikers were trying to ride off? Because that task requires both hands. This gangland shoot-out has all the subtlety of the St Valentine’s Massacre.   Continue reading “Deadliest motorcycle gang in Waco shoot-out was not Bandidos, Cossacks, Scimitars, or Vaqueros. It was police.”

Strapped consumers. A strong dollar. An incomplete turnaround plan.

OK, these factors are probably part of the reason Walmart (WMT) is underperforming on sales and profit both, with the stock down about 3% on the latest, disappointing earnings news.   Continue reading “This is the real reason Walmart is struggling”

Guerrillamerica – by Samuel Culper III

(Admin Note: For those new to the blog, I’ve espoused these ideas for a long time based on my professional experience as an Intelligence Analyst and a student of guerrilla and insurgent movements.  When we begin breaking down what another American revolution would look like and approach the topic from a military intelligence point of view, we see a lot of problems that are difficult to overcome, which have ultimately led me to believe that the likelihood of success is quite low right now.  The good news is that there’s a way forward if you want to restore Liberty.  I hope you’ll consider what I have to offer.)   Continue reading “The Way Ahead: How We Can Restore Liberty in Our Lifetime”

Foreign holdings of U.S. debt rose in March as China ramped up its purchases and displaced Japan as the leading owner of U.S. Treasury securities.

The Treasury Department says overseas ownership of U.S. debt rose 2.1 percent in March to $6.18 trillion. That is below January’s record of $6.22 trillion.   Continue reading “Foreign Ownership of US Debt Rises; China Reclaims Top Spot”
