A vermin infestation has overrun the kitchen of a suburban Chicago Veterans Affairs hospital and is reportedly so severe that cockroaches routinely crawl across countertops as cooks prepare meals. The insects have even found their way into patients’ food, employees say.

Americans who are suffering rate increases and higher out-of-pocket expenses thanks to the healthcare “reforms” of the “Affordable” Care Act, are about to get hit with even higher costs, after the nation’s largest health insurer announced recently that it was pulling out of the Obamacare exchanges after losing a whopping $1 billion since 2014.

As reported by The Associated Press – which tried to spin the departure in a good light for consumers (more on that in a moment) – UnitedHealth said that its losses had caused it to limit participation in the exchanges to just a handful of states next year, after expanding to 34 in 2016, though officials with the company would not be more specific about 2017 plans.   Continue reading “Obamacare bankrupting health insurers, too: Largest insurer loses $1 billion a year, says it’s going to drop coverage to save itself from bankruptcy”

Donald Trump’s proposal to force Mexico to pay for his planned border wall by threatening to block remittances from illegal immigrants would be a major violation of Mexicans’ rights, Mexico’s central bank governor said on Tuesday.

The Republican presidential hopeful’s campaign said last week that if elected in November, Trump would use a U.S. anti-terrorism law to cut off such money transfers unless Mexico made a one-time payment of $5 billion to $10 billion for the wall.   Continue reading “Trump remittance plan would violate Mexican rights: Mexico cenbank”

Most of us recognize the value of science in dealing with complex problems that pose significant risks to public health and well-being.

Thus we expect reputable science to be reported and used in helping us make difficult policy choices, such as what to do about climate change.

Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder

Has the U.S. economy gotten better over the past six months or has it gotten worse?  In this article, you will find solid proof that the U.S. economy has continued to get worse over the past six months.  Unfortunately, most people seem to think that since the stock market has rebounded significantly in recent weeks that everything must be okay, but of course that is not true at all.  If you look at a chart of the Dow, a very ominous head and shoulders pattern is forming, and all of the economic fundamentals are screaming that big trouble is ahead.  When Donald Trump told the Washington Post that we are heading for a “very massive recession“, he wasn’t just making stuff up.  We are already seeing lots of things happen that never take place outside of a recession, and the U.S. economy has already been sliding downhill fairly rapidly over the past several months.  With all that being said, the following are 19 facts that prove things in America are worse than they were six months ago…   Continue reading “19 Facts That Prove Things In America Are Worse Than They Were Six Months Ago”
