What requires about half the amount of water to be produced when compared to cotton, and requires NO pesticides to grow? Hemp, and Hawaii is already researching the growth of industrial hemp as a bio-fuel with numerous uses. Are other states aiming to follow?

Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie has already signed the bill, S.B. 2175, which authorizes the growth and cultivation of industrial hemp in accordance with requirements established by the 2014 Farm Bill. Hawaii can take advantage of this bill because it had already legalized industrial hemp cultivation in the past.   Continue reading “Hawaii Makes Use of Hemp as BioFuel, Other States to Follow?”

MOUNTAINHOME, Pa. (AP) — Scott Malkowski, a task force commander with the U.S. Marshals Service, spied a figure moving from the woods toward an abandoned airplane hangar in the Pocono Mountains. Looking at his face, his black hat and fleece, and his height and weight, Malkowski was certain he had his man.

“Suspect,” he told the two operators by his side, and they fanned out on either side of their quarry, who had no idea he’d just been spotted. Hidden by tall grass, Malkowski moved stealthily toward his target, adrenaline coursing through his body.   Continue reading “‘We just had a hunch’: US marshals nab Eric Frein”

Hillary Clinton was heckled repeatedly by immigration activists while speaking at a campaign rally for Anthony Brown, the Democratic nominee for Maryland governor.

“Immigration is an important issue,” Clinton said as the first wave of protesters were escorted from a University of Maryland gymnasium where the rally for Brown was held. “If they had just waited a little while, I was getting to the Dream Act.”   Continue reading “Hillary Clinton heckled by immigration activists in Maryland”

Same-sex marriageChristian Post – by Samuel Smith

Since gay marriage was legalized in North Carolina on Oct. 10, at least six North Carolina judges have resigned from their benches because they do not want to go against their Christian faith and conduct wedding ceremonies for same-sex couples.

While it was reported last week that Rockingham County magistrate John Kallam Jr. and Swain County magistrate Gilbert Breedlove resigned from their positions because of the legalization of gay marriage, media reports have surfaced indicating that at least four other magistrates have done the same.   Continue reading “Four More North Carolina Judges Resign Over Refusal To Conduct Same-Sex Weddings”

Gun Watch – by Dean Weingarten

The exemplar for restrictive firearms regulation in the United States has been England and Wales.   Some have argued that it was NAZI Germany, but though the 1968 Gun Control Act borrowed heavily from NAZI law, the country and laws that most have referred to has been England.  Wales shares the same laws and Supreme Court as England.   Interestingly, before the British passed their own restrictive firearms laws, the most restrictive law in the Anglosphere was the one passed in New York City, the infamous Sullivan law of 1911.     Continue reading “Gun Registration and Confiscation in England and Wales”

Jon-Neill-jack-o-lanters10Oddity Central – by Sumitra

Hollywood artist Jon Neill’s pumpkin carvings are so scary they might just give you nightmares this Halloween. The big, wrinkly faces and mouths full of crooked teeth are so life-like and rich in detail that it’s hard to believe they’re actually made of plain old pumpkins.

Neill, originally from Kansas City, has been carving pumpkins ever since he was a boy. His family used to grow them, and over the years, his traditional jack-o-lanterns morphed into creepy works of art. But his skills didn’t receive recognition until a few years ago, when the San Fernando Valley resident turned pro. He auditioned for the TV show Halloween Wars as a pumpkin artist, for which he made a few time-lapse videos of himself at work. When one of those videos was put up on YouTube, it started to receive thousands of hits, and he soon became known as one of the world’s pumpkin carving artists.   Continue reading “Jon Neill Creates the Most Amazing Pumpkin Carvings You’ve Ever Seen”

An important and definitive “mainstream” government study done nearly a decade ago got little attention because the science came down on the wrong side. It found that after decades and billions of dollars spent promoting flu shots for the elderly, the mass vaccination program did not result in saving lives. In fact, the death rate among the elderly increased substantially.

The authors of the study admitted a bias going into the study. Here was the history as described to me: Public health experts long assumed flu shots were effective in the elderly. But, paradoxically, all the studies done failed to demonstrate a benefit. Instead of considering that they, the experts, could be wrong–instead of believing the scientific data–the public health experts assumed the studies were wrong. After all, flu shots have to work, right?   Continue reading “Govt. Researchers: Flu Shots Not Effective in Elderly, After All”

EbolaNatural News – by Mike Adams

Kaci Hickox, the nurse who was quarantined in New Jersey over her high risk status as a possible Ebola carrier, has ties to the CDC which have been deliberately hidden by the mainstream media.

Right now, a war is waging between states like New Jersey, New York and Illinois — which have all decided to quarantine travelers at high risk of Ebola infections — and the federal government which is adamantly opposed to border security, medical quarantines and travel bans.   Continue reading “Ebola quarantine nurse’s ties to CDC scrubbed from web; was it a staged op to invoke opposition to quarantines?”

The CIA recently signed a $600 million deal with Amazon, allegedly for the use of their cloud computing technology. The large contract has some users concerned about their privacy, because many of them feel that being on the same cloud as the CIA puts their information at risk.

Very few details of this deal have been made public, but concerned Amazon Cloud users want answers, and want the company to promise that they will not share its user’s information with the CIA.   Continue reading “Activists Set Up Billboard Near Amazon Asking Company About $600 Million CIA Contract”

The Philadelphia Veterans Affairs office announced Wednesday that it would hold a Halloween parade on Friday for children of VA employees, but warned employees not to hand out any candy or sweets to the kids.

Instead, the VA said the day care center in the office has “joined First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Program,” which means the kids should be given things other than candy.   Continue reading “Michelle Obama Inspires Federal Office to Ban Halloween Candy…From Kids’ Halloween Parade”

While many consider singling people out for Ebola quarantine a rights violation, singling them out for punishment for alluding to Islamic terrorism is a different story — at least in Great Britain. And 75-year-old retired hairdresser Paul Griffith learned this the hard way at that nation’s Stansted airport while traveling to Malaga, Spain, for a weeklong vacation earlier this year.

Griffith’s problems began after he set off an airport scanner and upon being asked to remove his shoes quipped, “I’m not Muslim, am I?” The Mirror reports on what happened next:   Continue reading “Man Arrested After Joking With Security, “I’m Not Muslim, Am I?””

Brown, the state’s Obama-lookalike lieutenant governor who’s running for governor, in the midst of Obama’s 25-minute speech, members of his mainly black audience left in droves. The Temple Institute is an Israeli organization focused on building the Third Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, on or next to the Dome of the Rock Mosque.

One of it’s most prominent supporters, Yehuda Glick, was shot three times yesterday.  He had just finished a lecture called “Israel Returns to the Temple Mount” before being shot in the head, neck, and chest at close range.  I could understand the violence a little more if Glick was one of the more offensive activists calling for Jews to blow up the Dome of the Rock Mosque.  But he is a reasonable man who just wants Jews to have the same rights to worship on the Temple Mount in Israel’s capital that the Muslims already enjoy there.   Continue reading “Jerusalem’s Next Temple: Leading Supporter Shot”

The two Santa Fe County deputies were staying in Las Cruces on Monday night after transporting a prisoner to an Arizona jail and were believed to have argued at a pub, Las Cruces Police spokesman Dan Trujillo said in a written statement.   Continue reading “New Mexico sheriff’s deputy accused of killing fellow officer”
