As grocery prices have risen, demand at food banks throughout the country has surged to very alarming levels. At the end of 2024, I wrote about how demand at food banks had risen to record levels all over the United States. Unfortunately, demand has continued to rise in 2025, and now the government shutdown has shifted America’s hunger crisis into overdrive.
A US State Department spokesperson told Shafaq News on Wednesday that the US is not withdrawing from Iraq but shifting its military role to a “bilateral relationship” under a deal that will end the mission of the US-led anti-ISIS coalition in the country. Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) reported that France is plotting to deploy up to 2,000 soldiers, the core of which will be Latino assault troops from the Foreign Legion who are presently undergoing intensive training in Poland, to Central Ukraine in the near future.
This follows Chief of Staff of the French Army Pierre Schill declaring that his country will be ready to deploy troops to Ukraine next year as part of “security guarantees”.
Putin earlier warned that any foreign troops there would be legitimate targets.

Although the Netanyahu regime launched its ground offensive into the Gaza Strip with the aim of destroying Hamas, the conflict has proven to have done more to destroy Israel’s reputation on the world stage than it has to defeat terrorism. Scenes showing the hell on Earth that Gaza has become throughout the course of the years-long war have exposed how Israel’s claims that it is defending its right to exist are little more than a facade it hides behind to justify committing a genocide against the Palestinian people. With a tentative “peace” (by Israeli standards) now in place, the pain of the war in Gaza has given way to the woe of its aftermath. With the fog of war dissipated, the full scope of the atrocities committed by the IDF has come into a sharpened focus.
