It used to be against Oregon law to harvest the meat of certain critters killed by the state’s drivers. Gov. Kate Brown changed that with the stroke of a pen last week, approving a law passed without a single “no” vote in the state legislature.

According to an article in the Mercury News, the City of San Jose, California is letting anyCOMM install 300-1,000 street lights equipped with surveillance cameras and microphones on their streets.

“The council ultimately voted 7-4 to allow anyCOMM, a tech company with offices in El Dorado Hills, Gold River and San Jose, to install “nodes” which could have video and audio recording capabilities on 300 to 1,000 streetlights. The “pilot program” — as proposed by Mayor Sam Liccardo — would run for a year and only in pre-agreed upon areas.”

The iconic al-Nuri mosque in Mosul, Iraq has been blown up by Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists, news agencies report citing the Iraqi military.

Former police officer Dominique Heaggan-Brown of the Milwaukee is free and has been acquitted of all charges in the shooting death of Sylville Smith last August. The family of the slain man could be heard crying in emotional pain after the verdict was read. 

The fateful day that Smith lost his life, he appeared to be attempting to surrender when Heaggan-Brown fired the two gunshots that would ultimately take a life. The pain can be heard in the moans of Smith’s family.  Unfortunately, most Americans know by know that cops will not be facing justice for the lives they take.  The defense rested Monday after calling its lone witness, Robert Willis, an expert in police use of force, according to WISN.

A llama caused some drama in Vacaville on Monday.

After the animal got loose from its pasture, two deputies with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office were forced to “think outside the box to coax this llama out of the roadway.”
