As we celebrate the wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and all we have to be truly grateful for, one thing that takes center stage at Thanksgiving is food—glorious tasting food of all kinds, flavors and recipes.  However, today’s food is not what food was prior to the 1990s.  Food now contains genetically modified organisms which are harming the human gut, microbiome and immune system.

My Thanksgiving wish for all readers is that society everywhere can come to the realization that food really is medicine for the body, mind and even our spirit.  Eating wholesome, clean, non-GMO foods is the best thing we can do to maintain our children’s and our own health and wellbeing.   Continue reading “A Thanksgiving Wish”

Seven years have gone by since Nidal Hassan killed 14 unarmed people at Fort Hood in the first lone-wolf terror attack on military personnel in the US. Finally, the Department of Defense has changed its policy to allow our armed services to be … y’know … armed. Military Times reporter Jeffrey Schogol wrote about the change of policy yesterday that will allow commanders in the field clear authority to allow concealed carry of firearms by recruiters and other personnel (via Twitchy):   Continue reading “Better late than never: Military can finally carry at gov’t facilities”

In just 90 seconds, they’d made off with over $10,000 in cosmetics.

Groups known as “flash-mob robbers” storm a store, steal thousands in merchandise in minutes and bolt as quickly as they arrive. Among the most notorious are the Rainbow Girls — a group of female thieves, named for their brightly hued hair — who’ve hit dozens of stores in the Bay Area. Their high-stakes heists have included Ulta ULTA, +1.21% where the beauty burglars stole an estimated $11,000 worth of goods in less than two minutes. The mostly girl gang has also walked off with a combined more than $130,000 worth of luxury goods from Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton LVMUY, -2.57% Christian Dior and Sunglass Hut LUX, -0.37% , according to charges filed against a dozen members of the Rainbow Girls in the Bay Area in October.    Continue reading “The nasty rise of ‘flash mob robbers’”

Built at a cost of more than $4 billion, the high-tech USS Zumwalt only made it to the Panama Canal while on its first journey to its homeport in San Diego. A malfunction left the warship in need of tugboats so that it could reach the closest port, where it remains under maintenance.

Passing southbound through the Panama Canal on Monday evening, the USS Zumwalt crew discovered water seeping into two of the four ship’s bearings connecting the port and starboard Advanced Induction Motors, or AIMs, to the drive shafts, according to US Naval Institute News citing a defense official.   Continue reading “Not again! Anyone who has ever had a toddler knows that when your little one falls down, often, they look to you before deciding whether they should cry or not. If you rush over and say, “Oh you poor baby, you’re hurt” then the wailing commences. If you glance over and say, “You’re okay. You’re a tough cookie. Get back up,” then you’re teaching them that the proper response to falling is shaking it off and getting up again. We’re instilling courage and resilience when we do this.   Continue reading “Schools and Colleges Are Making Students Even More Terrified of Trump”
