Automobile manufacturer General Motors has announced plans to lay off 2,000 employees at two auto plants in Ohio and Michigan. The employees will be furloughed in January.

General Motors (GM) announced Wednesday that it would be letting go 2,000 employees in the Midwest as the result of what they believe is a continued shift from small cars to crossovers and trucks. BERKELEY, Calif. — Chanting “Not my president,” several hundred protesters streamed through the streets of Berkeley and Oakland in the predawn hours of Wednesday venting their anger at the election of Donald J. Trump as president. Demonstrations were also reported in Pittsburgh, Seattle and Portland, Ore.
