PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Authorities say a Philadelphia police officer is recovering after he was shot several times during an ambush late Thursday night in West Philadelphia.
Philadelphia police commissioner Richard Ross says the officer was sitting in his patrol car around 11:30 p.m. at 60th and Spruce Streets when a gunman fired 13 shots through the driver’s side of the car. Continue reading “Police Officer Ambushed, Shot Multiple Times In West Philly”
A reporter was hospitalized after a demonstration of a knife-proof vest’s effectiveness went wrong, much to the embarrassment of the manufacturer.

A truck rigged with explosives crashed into a police training camp in Zliten, Libya, on Thursday, killing dozens and injuring up to 200, according to various sources.

Crystal City Council member Marco Rodriguez was allegedly transporting three illegal immigrants from the border to San Antonio when he was stopped by authorities. Rodriguez reportedly talked with the officer for a short time, but then took off again, KENS-TV reported.
Border Patrol eventually caught up to Rodriquez and reportedly found the three illegal immigrants with him. Rodriquez admitted to being hired to transport them, while adding that he was paid $500 and $1,400 to do the same at least twice before.
