While senior party members rushed to apologise, the local chair of a youth branch of Sweden’s ruling Social Democrats Party has defended the anti-Zionist song chanted by its members during a Labour Day march.

The company Flint, Michigan, hired to replace lead water pipes had no experience with the work, according to a councilwoman and a contractor, despite that the city has received more than $600 million in state and federal aid for its water crisis.

Wethersfield, CT — Deeply disturbing dash cam footage was released over the weekend showing a Wethersfield police officer jump out of his car and in front of the car belonging to 18-year-old Anthony Jose “Chulo” Vega Cruz and kill him. The teen was unarmed and not a threat to anyone when he was gunned down by the officer.

In late March, a bipartisan group of senators introduced legislation making it easier for authorities to block gun sales to people who cannot legally buy guns but lie about their status on background checks — i.e. “lie and buy.”

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Harris County District Attorney’s Office will determine whether a sheriff’s deputy should be charged with a crime for knocking a man to the ground after encouraging the man to slap him.

Two workers were pronounced dead and two colleagues were missing Saturday after an explosion rocked a manufacturing plant outside Chicago, authorities said.

They’re not cops or armed vigilantes, but Brooklyn’s new ‘Muslim patrol’ hopes to work with police to help make their neighborhood more Muslim-friendly. RT’s Caleb Maupin joined the patrol on its beat.

Founded by a Yemeni migrant and boasting at least 30 members, the Muslim Community Patrol’s (MCP) main aim is to be the “eyes and ears” of Brooklyn’s Muslim community. With uniforms and marked cars complete with sirens, the group could easily be mistaken for regular police – but don’t be fooled. The patrolmen are unarmed and have no police powers. Instead, the group radios to police if they encounter something that requires police action – or firepower.
