A new poll shows that Congress is less popular than carnies, root canals and colonoscopies, but more popular than the ebola virus, meth labs and gonorrhea.
Those findings are in a Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey released Tuesday showed that 9 percent of the respondents held a favorable opinion of Congress, while 85 percent held an unfavorable view.

CLEVELAND/SAN ANTONIO, Jan 8 (Reuters) – School teachers in Texas and Ohio are flocking to free firearms classes in the wake of the Connecticut elementary school massacre, some vowing to protect their students with guns even at the risk of losing their jobs.
In Ohio, more than 900 teachers, administrators and school employees asked to take part in the Buckeye Firearms Association’s newly created, three-day gun training program, the association said.

CENTENNIAL, Colorado, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) — Police officers on Monday tearfully recalled the bloody chaos and carnage that greeted them as they responded to the Colorado theater shooting that left 12 people dead.
The officers described “slipping in blood” and “seeing dead bodies everywhere,” in riveting testimony during the first day of a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to put James Holmes on trial for the July 20 attack that also left dozens injured.

In April 2012 Kelly McMillan, owner of McMillan arms reported that Bank of America began terminating business with them even though they were in good standing. Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa has said the CIA may try to kill him prior to upcoming elections. Citing reports of a plot to “destabilize the region,” Correa said the threats were “credible,” given the history of US involvement in Latin America.
Correa alluded to reports by Chilean journalist Patricio Mery Bell, who allegedly passed on information to the Ecuadorian government that President Correa’s life was “under threat” by a CIA plot.

Owners of wrongfully repossessed houses could now get up to $125,000 as ten major US banks agree to settle federal complaints. This will end a foreclosure review process begun by a 2011 enforcement action.
Under the new agreement, those people who had their homes seized and then sold would get the biggest pay offs, while banks who failed to modify people’s loans in light of a change of income would get off more lightly. The settled compensation is anywhere between $1000 and $125,000.

CHICAGO (AP) — With no signs of trauma and nothing to raise suspicions, the sudden death of a Chicago man just as he was about to collect nearly $425,000 in lottery winnings was initially ruled a result of natural causes.
Nearly six months later, authorities have a mystery on their hands after medical examiners, responding to a relative’s pleas, did an expanded screening and determined that Urooj Khan, 46, died shortly after ingesting a lethal dose of cyanide. The finding has triggered a homicide investigation, the Chicago Police Department said Monday.

NEW YORK (AP) — Bank of America reached an $11.6 billion settlement with government mortgage agency Fannie Mae to settle claims resulting from mortgage-backed investments that soured during the housing crash, bringing it a step closer to clearing up its legacy of bad home loans.
Under the deal announced Monday, Bank of America will pay $3.6 billion in cash to Fannie Mae and buy back $6.75 billion in loans that the bank and its Countrywide Financial unit sold to the agency from Jan. 1, 2000 through Dec. 31, 2008. That includes about 30,000 loans. The bank is also paying $1.3 billion to the agency for failing to deal with foreclosures fast enough.

This is an absolute attack on our 1st Amendment rights to freedom of speech and freedom of the press. This is a group of communists in Washington DC declaring that the world view of the Iranians will be silenced, as it stands in opposition to the world view of their Zionist masters. Think about the arrogance in telling American adults that they cannot listen to what Iranian adults have to say, while simultaneously introducing ten pieces of legislation, which represent, by definition, ten more infringements upon our unalienable 2nd Amendment right.

The soviet socialist insurgent Obama will be sworn in for a second illegitimate term as a foreign occupier of our highest seat of power, and he is making it clear as to his intent to bring the population of US nationals to their knees and institute international communism as the law of our land. Hernandez indicated that Obama had promised in his first term his insurgent forces from Mexico citizenship and now, as a result of the last fraudulent election wherein the army of illegal insurgents voted for Obama, all of his friends on both the left and the right agree that it is time to complete the process in replacing the US workforce with Mexican peasant labor.

As the US withdraws from Afghanistan, the whole episode is being summarily dismissed as a failed mission, with only one brigade of Afghan troops reportedly prepared to give a go at providing the country’s defense, which will probably come down to defending the poppy fields and the US puppet government for as long as possible.
This has been the longest war in US history with 12 years of fighting, 1.2 trillion in US taxpayer dollars, 2,173 US service members KIA, and more than 17,000 wounded, many of which the US taxpayer will have to take care of for the rest of their lives as they were defending our Constitution and Bill of Rights in the foreign country of Afghanistan.

WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – Helicopters have been conducting radiation tests above portions of the Washington, D.C. area using remote gamma radiation sensing technology.
The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has been flying the radiation missions since Dec. 27, 2012 and they will continue until next Friday, Jan. 11. The flights have been conducted during daylight only, and the pilots fly about 80 miles per hour at 150 feet above the approximately 70-square mile radiation assessment area.

Instead, they will only sell to law enforcement. This prompted Oconee County, Georgia Sheriff Scott Barry to write them an email in which he told them he would no longer be seeking them out to purchase products for his department based on their decision.

I often have SurvivalBlog readers forward me alarmist e-mails, warning of “total disarmament” of the civilian populace. While there indeed may be plans or schemesto disarm Americans, I don’t consider these threats credible. Let me explain why: I would conservatively estimate that there are about 316 million firearms in private hands in the United States. Of these, less than 10% are logged in any formal registry. Perhaps another 30% have Form 4473s filed with the FFL dealers where they were first purchased, but that is a fractured mishmash of records with a quite perishable life span. It is notable that we live in a very mobile society, where most families move every three or four years. And in most states, there are no record keeping requirements for secondary sales of firearms. So to call the accumulation of 4473 forms a de facto registration system is laughable.
