There are three ways out of a Depression. One is by Hyperinflation (Weimar Republic). Another is bankruptcy and default on bad debts (US 1930s). A third way is to systematically cancel bad debts on a scientific basis. The Federal government gives “grants” to private charities to bring them to the United States and provide them with benefits above and beyond what they will also receive from conventional welfare. Thirty-four nuclear missile launch officers have been implicated in a cheating scandal and have been stripped of their certification, and three others have been implicated in a drug probe, in what the Air Force believes is the largest such breach of integrity in the nuclear force, Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James said Wednesday.

The officers apparently texted to each other the answers to a monthly test on their knowledge of how to operate the missiles. JCPenney is cutting 2,000 jobs and closing 33 stores as the battered department store seeks to revive revenue growth, the company announced Wednesday.

The move will save about $65 million annually beginning in 2014, the company said.

Tyler Smith of Buckley has been featured on the National Geographic Channel show Doomsday Preppers.

A gun show held about once a month near Austin ends in January after county commissioners and the show management failed to come to terms over a county demand for federal background checks on all gun sales.

The Saxet Gun Shows in Travis County have been held in the county’s publicly-owned Exposition Center since 2010. Shakespeare can be credited for the invention of thousands of words that are now an everyday part of the English language (including, but not limited to, “eyeball,” “fashionable,” and “manager.”)

In addition to his being a particularly clever wordsmith, Shakespeare’s word invention can be credited to the fact that the English language as a whole was in a major state of flux during the time that he was writing.
