WEB Notes: As we have reported HSBC has started limiting cash withdrawals. While Lloyd’s experienced ATM failures the other day which has become more common with banks of recent. Meanwhile Germany’s Bundesbank is calling for capital levy’s to be put in place, ie: seizing the money in your bank account to bailout failed governments.  In addition to this news out from Turkey, there are reports that a Russian bank has halted all cash withdrawals for a week. However, the reports all list Bloomberg as the source of this information and we are unable to document it. Thrown into the spotlight and labeled a homewrecker, California women are finding themselves shamed online. Call Kurtis investigated a controversial website allowing scorned women to get back at the other woman.

More than 175 women from California are now labeled as homewreckers on one website. An Amador County woman found herself on shesahomewrecker.com. In the history of armed conflict, no one has ever had need for a 30 pound minigun that only shoots airsoft BBs, but now you can have one just in case it comes up. Not to be confused with a lesser airsoft gun, the Echo1 M134 has six spinning barrels that spit out 3,000 skin-stinging rounds per minute.

The Echo1 fires 0.20g BBs, which are only moderately dangerous. You’re not going to kill anyone, but a few thousand tiny plastic pellets being fired at high speed won’t feel good. The magazine can feed 1,700 BBs into the gun before it needs to be refilled, so you’ll only get about 30 seconds of plastic-launching fury before a reload. It also packs a giant 12v battery to power the spinning cannons.

A bank executive who died after jumping 500ft from the top of JP Morgan’s European headquarters in London yesterday morning has been named as Gabriel Magee.

The American senior manager, 39, fell from the 33-storey skyscraper at around 8am and was found on the ninth floor roof, which surrounds the Canary Wharf skyscraper.

In 1964, demographers counted 194 million people residing in the United States of America. No one had heard of acid rain, carbon footprint, gridlocked traffic or climate change.

But something happened. Our U.S. Congress passed the 1965 Immigration Reform Act that changed the annual inflow of immigrants from 175,000 each year to 1 million annually. Result: by October 2007, America had added 106 million people to reach a total population of 300 million. News that biotechnology corporations are developing new technology that can allegedly kill insects and pathogens by silencing their genes has some environmentalists and scientists worried.

The United States Food and Drug Administration allowed 18 animal drugs to stay on the market even after an agency review found the drugs posed a “high risk” of exposing humans to antibiotic-resistant bacteria through food supply, according to a study released Monday by the Natural Resources Defense Council.

The study by the NRDC, a non-governmental group that criticizes the widespread use of drugs in the meat industry, is the latest salvo in the national debate over the long-standing practice of antibiotic use in meat production.
