Louisiana schools will be able to administer the new Common Core standardized test in Spanish as well as English this March.

State schools Superintendent John White said the test — called the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers or PARCC for short — can be given in Spanish to newly arrived immigrants who are still learning English for the first two years they are enrolled in school. Then, the students must switch to the English version of the assessment.    Continue reading “Louisiana’s Common Core test will be offered in Spanish”

Of all the foolish lies that have been excreted by the Obama Administration, a recent remark by Jeh Johnson, the left-wing fundraiser now in charge of our security, takes the prize as the most staggeringly moronic:

“From my homeland security perspective, I want people who are living in this country undocumented to come forward, to get on the books, and subject themselves to a background check so that I can know who they are and whether it’s the current DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program or a path to citizenship – whether it’s deferred action or earned path to citizenship. From my homeland security perspective, I want people to come forward.”

The United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a landmark resolution for LGBT rights during its 27th session on Friday, the second-ever motion of its kind. The resolution, which was heavily promoted by the U.S., was sponsored by Uruguay, Colombia, Brazil and Chile. Countries from every geographic region in the world joined as supporters.

The action, which passed by a 25-14 vote margin after more than an hour of debate, condemns violence and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity across the globe.   Continue reading “United Nations Passes Landmark LGBT Rights Resolution”

There is no man on a white horse to ride into Washington DC and fix what is wrong. Every time you pull that lever in the voting booth surrounded by earnest old women in tennis shoes, you are perpetuating a lie. The lie that voting can create and nourish the garden of freedom and liberty is an oft-quoted and misleading deception. Like pulling the trigger on a gun with an innocent man or woman in front of the muzzle and thinking no harm will come. The lever is a stamp of approval for the terrorism, initiated violence and horror show that all government beyond self-government is in fact and history.   Continue reading “Kill the State of Consent: Voting is Nonsense”

The companies responsible for powering nearly 95 percent of the smart phones in the United States say they’re embracing encryption for the sake of their customers’ privacy, and that’s concerning to the head of the FBI.

On Thursday this week, FBI Director James Comey attacked recent reports regarding both Apple and Google’s efforts to provide customers of their respective operating systems with the ability to secure data with encryption unlike anything previously available for mainstream mobile devices: Apple claims that even its own Palo Alto, California engineers can’t crack into locked phones running the iOS 8 platform released this month, and Google says its new Android devices will offer data encryption by default.   Continue reading “FBI director lashes out at Apple, Google for encrypting smartphones”

Monsanto’s experimental genetically modified wheat has been discovered growing in the second US field in Montana, about a year after the discovery of the company’s unapproved crop growing in Oregon disrupted US wheat exports.

The plants were discovered at a test site at Montana State University, where back in 2000-2003 Monsanto was conducting field trials of its wheat, genetically modified to tolerate Roundup herbicide.   Continue reading “Monsanto GMO wheat contamination discovered in Montana”

Less than two weeks after the 13th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, three New York firefighters who worked at Ground Zero died of cancer, all on the same day, the Fire Department of New York said.

Lt. Howard Bischoff, 58, and firefighters Robert Leaver, 56, and Daniel Heglund, 58, died within hours of one another Monday. Bischoff had colon cancer, Leaver had leukemia and Heglund had esophageal cancer. Many believe the diseases were related to their time serving as first responders at the World Trade Center in the immediate aftermath of 9/11. FDNY officials say 850 firefighters and ambulance workers at the scene have been diagnosed with cancer since then, related to that work at Ground Zero.   Continue reading “Three 9/11 first responders died of cancer on the same day”

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A Montana teacher was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison in a notorious student rape case that dragged on for years and led to the censure of a judge who partially blamed the victim.

Stacey Dean Rambold, 55, was resentenced by a new judge exactly a year after he completed an initial one-month prison term for the crime. Rambold appeared to grimace as Friday’s sentence was read by Judge Randal Spaulding. He was then handcuffed and led away by deputies, pausing briefly to exchange words with family as he exited the courtroom.   Continue reading “Teacher gets 10 years prison in student rape”

“Abraham Lincoln did not cause the death of so many people from a mere love of slaughter, but only to bring about a state of consent that could not otherwise be secured for the government he had undertaken to administer. When a government has once reduced its people to a state of consent – that is, of submission to its will – it can put them to a much better use than to kill them; for it can then plunder them, enslave them, and use them as tools for plundering and enslaving others.”

Dennis Arndt of Manawa with the monster 780-pound black bear he shot Sept. 21, 2014 near Ogdensburg.Post Crescent – by Patrick Durkin

– With sunset approaching Sept. 21 and time running out on days he could devote to hunting a giant Waupaca County black bear, Dennis Arndt decided to try something radical to coax the old boar out of hiding.

Arndt, 35, of rural Manawa, gambled that the bear was holed up in a nearby cornfield, probably within hearing of his ground blind. Trail camera photos proved the bear had visited the bait site recently in daylight, so when it didn’t appear by early evening, Arndt assumed the bear knew he was waiting nearby.   Continue reading “Manawa’s Arndt takes 780-pound ‘bear of a lifetime’”

The U.S. Justice Department scolded the Ferguson, Missouri, police chief Friday for letting law enforcement officers obscure their names on their badges and wear bracelets honoring Darren Wilson, the Ferguson cop who shot and killed teenager Michael Brown.

In a letter to Chief Thomas Jackson, the Justice Department said residents had provided photos of law enforcement officers “wearing ‘I am Darren Wilson’ bracelets while in uniform and on duty,” a reference to the Ferguson officer who is under grand jury investigation in the Aug. 9 killing of Brown that set off several days of violent clashes. It said residents had also complained that some officers were wearing black tape over their name plates, apparently to protect their own identities — which the Justice Department said violated the police department’s own policies.   Continue reading “Feds Tells Ferguson Police to Ban ‘I Am Darren Wilson’ Bracelets”
