The condition of New York City’s first Ebola patient, Dr. Craig Spencer, worsened on Saturday, though he remained awake and communicative, health officials said.

Dr. Spencer, 33, was “entering the next and more serious phase of his illness, as anticipated with the appearance of gastrointestinal symptoms,” Ana Marengo, a spokeswoman for the city’s public hospital system, said in a statement. Dr. Spencer has been in isolation at Bellevue Hospital Center since Thursday, when he reported having a fever of 100.3 degrees.   Continue reading “New York Ebola Patient Enters More Serious Phase of Illness, Officials Say”

A health ministry panel agreed Friday that doctors in Japan should be able to use a new domestically produced influenza drug to treat people who get infected with the deadly Ebola virus, although it has not yet been approved for such use.

Favipiravir, marketed as Avigan Tablet, has drawn renewed attention after a French nurse recovered from Ebola after taking it in conjunction with two other types of medicine made in the United States and Canada.   Continue reading “New flu drug to be cleared for emergency use against Ebola in Japan”

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he has no second thoughts about enacting a 21-day medical quarantine on medical workers returning from treating Ebola patients in West Africa.

“I think this is a policy that will become a national policy sooner rather than later,” the Republican governor said on “Fox News Sunday,” emphasizing the population density of his state and the New York metropolitan area.   Continue reading “Christie predicts quarantine will be ‘national policy’”

Judicial Watch

President Obama’s trusted senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett, was a key player in the effort to cover up that Attorney General Eric Holder lied to Congress about the Fast and Furious scandal, according to public records obtained by Judicial Watch.

The information is part of a Department of Justice (DOJ) “Vaughn index” detailing records about the gun-running operation known as Fast and Furious. JW had to sue the agency for the records after the Obama administration failed to provide them under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). A federal court ordered the DOJ to provide the records over the agency’s objections. Yesterday JW reported on the broad information in the records, including that Obama asserted executive privilege for Holder’s wife as part of the administration’s efforts to cover up the scandal.   Continue reading “Valerie Jarrett Key Player in Fast and Furious Cover-Up After Holder Lied to Congress”

Rumors continue to circulate from speculating sources that the Ebola pandemic in Africa is one giant hoax. This conspiracy theory undermines the pain, disease and starvation that West Africans have been facing. An Associated Press photo taken from Monday, October 20, shows that the pandemic continues, with men in protective suits about to cart off a potential Ebola-stricken patient. It’s no joking matter; West Africans in Liberia continue to suffer — their villages overrun by disease. The newest update on the Ebola front lines shows that quarantine measures in an impoverished area are unprepared, and men and women are starving because of it. West Africa’s state radio is reporting that quarantined individuals are running out of food and are threatening to break out of isolation quarters.   Continue reading “Starving Liberians threaten to break out of Ebola quarantine as food supply runs out”

Dozens of armed demonstrators have marched through the downtown St. Louis to confirm their right to carry firearms openly in public. Only some 10 policemen watched the march without much interest, even after the group met counter protesters.

A heavily armed crowd of over 40 people marched on Saturday afternoon from the Citygarden to the Gateway Arch, openly displaying their arsenal. A group of some 10 police officers took a note of the gathering, but did not follow or otherwise intervene with the group armed with pistols and rifles, St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.   Continue reading “Armed crowd marches through downtown St. Louis”

Comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko (Image from nasa.gov)RT

A mix of rotten eggs, alcohol and a horse stable, with a note of bitter almonds – that’s the smell of comet 67P, caught by sensor devices of the Rosetta spacecraft, which is orbiting it, European scientists say.

The comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko – or Chury for short – is traveling through space some 400 million km (about 250 million miles) from the sun, but this chunk of ice has already started releasing gas molecules. They were detected by the Rosetta orbiter sensor for ion and neutral analysis (ROSINA) – first in August – but this time an unexpectedly much richer picture was revealed.   Continue reading “‘Rotten eggs & horse pee’: Rosetta probe sniffs comet 67P…and it stinks!”

BNEI NETZARIM, Israel (AP) — Every seven years, according to the Bible, Israeli farmers must give their lands a rest for a year.

So how do modern-day growers reconcile the ancient spiritual practice with a need to feed the country’s 8 million mouths? Most market their produce thanks to a clever workaround: they temporarily sold their farms, valued together at $33 billion, to a 25-year-old non-Jewish telemarketer named George.    Continue reading “Israeli farmers observe sabbatical _ with a wink”

You have to wonder what makes a genetic engineer’s mind tick. Victor Frankenstein claimed to be creating his monster for the betterment of humankind, but it seems more likely that he did so out of arrogance or a desire to play God. When you read about the 7 genetically engineered animals that have been created in the last few decades, you might ask yourself – exactly what motivates the biotech industry? If they aren’t letting loose GMO mosquitoes and moths, or creating suicide seeds – here’s what they do:   Continue reading “Biotech’s Bizarre World: 7 Genetically Modified Animals”

HONOLULU (AP) — Flowing lava from an erupting volcano could soon force dozens of residents of an area in Hawaii to flee their homes.

Authorities on Saturday told them to prepare for a possible evacuation in the next three to five days as the molten rock oozed across a country road and edged closer to homes. The flow was about 35 yards wide and moving northeast at about 10 yards per hour.   Continue reading “Hawaii volcano lava prompts evacuation concerns”

Chemtrails plane 263x164 The World Awakens: America Sleeps – Chemtrails from Around the Globe, a Satellite ViewNatural Society – by Christina Sarich

There are millions of people in the United States who are still ‘asleep at the wheel’ when it comes to awareness about geo-engineering programs for weather control and chemtrails. While Americas celebrate one of the most important dates for ‘freedom,’ we allow our governments to continue to pollute the planet with chemtrail dumps and aerosol spraying. There is evidence around the world that proves this phenomenon is happening, even if the con-job of the military industrial corporatocracy continues to leave most of us hoodwinked.   Continue reading “The World Awakens: America Sleeps – Chemtrails from Around the Globe, a Satellite View”

Fred was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young ‘pullets,’ and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.

This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.

Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing.   Continue reading “Old Butch”

CHARLESTOWN, IN — A town is working to “demolish a working-class neighborhood” by seizing 354 homes and passing the land off to a private commercial developer. Using federal dollars and the highly-abused power of eminent domain, the city intends to evict multitudes of families to make way for economic progress.

The community under fire is called “Pleasant Ridge.” It contains hundreds of small homes that were built during World War II as military housing. Today the homes are privately-owned and contain working-class and poor families, many of which have owned their homes for decades.   Continue reading “Indiana town moves to seize over 350 homes to make room for private developer”
