Obama Bill SignLegal Insurrection – by Aleister

The Obama administration is fond of releasing news on Fridays and holiday weekends. Most people aren’t paying close attention to the media and a story can easily get buried without notice.

Benjamin Goad of The Hill writes…   Continue reading “White House Quietly Releases Regulatory Agenda on Holiday Weekend”

If you worked for a federal agency that was killing people at the rate of 100,000 a year, every year, like clockwork, and if you knew it, wouldn’t you feel compelled to say or do something about it?

At the FDA, which is, in fact, killing Americans at that rate, no one has ever felt the need to step forward and speak up.   Continue reading “Why the FDA should be charged with murder”

With all the astounding therapeutic benefits of cannabis, and its subsequent legalization in a number of states, it was only a matter of time before a resourceful entrepreneur seized the opportunity to create a technologically advanced (and secure) way to obtain medicinal marijuana. And this is exactly what manufacturer American Green has done. Unveiled at an event in Avon, Colorado, the ZaZZZ is the first vending machine of its kind that dispenses pot-infused snacks directly to consumers.   Continue reading “Colorado Rolls Out State-of-the-Art Medical Marijuana Vending Machines”

I subscribe to the ADL’s newsletter via email, and this promotional message came into my mailbox the other day:

The role of a properly trained law enforcement community is a critical element for a healthy democracy. I wonder if you are aware how much effort and initiative ADL takes to help make that community well-trained? Continue reading “ADL brags it trains, indoctrinates US law enforcement agencies”

Tim Murphy Doesn't Miss a Beat Turning Tragedy Into Political OpportunityWorld of Psychology – by JOHN M. GROHOL, PSY.D.

One of the disgusting fall-outs from the Santa Barbara tragedy on Friday is Rep. Tim Murphy’s opportunism to promote his regressive, forced-treatment House bill. He says he’s angry by Friday’s tragedy, where a lonely, narcissistic, shy person by the name of Elliot Rodger decided he was going to take out his anger on a bunch of innocent people.

But if Rep. Murphy is angry, I’m furious.   Continue reading “Tim Murphy Doesn’t Miss a Beat Turning Tragedy Into Political Opportunity”

Vietnam and China traded barbs over the sinking of a Vietnamese fishing boat, their most serious bilateral standoff since 2007 as China asserts its claims in the disputed South China Sea.

“It was rammed by a Chinese boat,” Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Hai Binh said by phone of the Vietnamese vessel, with the crew of 10 rescued after the scrap. The incident occurred after some 40 Chinese fishing vessels encircled a group of Vietnamese boats in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone, the government in Hanoi said in a statement on its website.   Continue reading “China Sinking Fishing Vessel Raises Tensions With Vietnam”

Category One: The Gathering Storm

Some federal court cases are quickly forgotten, because they start small and stay small. Some start big and wither. A few start small and gather steam, like hurricanes over warm deep waters and lightning over humid plains.   Continue reading “Blowing Whistles at Hurricanes — Marxism Meets the Big Sky Country”

James Comey became FBI director last year, at a time when Osama bin Laden was dead, terrorism at home was on the decline and the United States was shrinking its inflammatory presence in the Muslim world. So naturally, he says the danger is way worse than you think.

Referring to al-Qaida groups in Africa and the Middle East, he recently told The New York Times, “I didn’t have anywhere near the appreciation I got after I came into this job just how virulent those affiliates had become. There are both many more than I appreciated, and they are stronger than I appreciated.” Continue reading “The FBI Prospers by Feeding Fears”

There “wasn’t much that could be done,” witnesses say, after a Washington state cop hit a teenager at highway speeds on Friday night while rushing to a call without any lights or sirens.

Tim Viall caught the penultimate screech of tires as an unidentified Spokane County Sheriff’s deputy tried to swerve around a teen bicyclist at about 10:30 p.m., but only turned around after he heard the dreaded thud and saw a car speeding away.   Continue reading “Washington cop hits teen bicyclist at 60 mph”

Donna CoxHad four visitors from Nye County around lunch time. Left is Nye County Commissioner Donna Cox.  Yesterday, sometime after lunch, Sharon the cook snuck down to the river and shot the tube! Said she got turned around during the ride and came out with few bumps and bruises. When telling of her adventure she’s smiling.

Sunday night five of us watched WACO: The Rules of Engagement. Sharon brought Peach Shortcake. After the movie, we all agreed that on April 19, 1993 the US government used chemical weapons on American citizens.  Continue reading “Sunday report from Molon Labe”

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration accidentally revealed the name of the CIA’s top official in Afghanistan in an email to thousands of journalists during the president’s surprise weekend trip to Bagram Air Field.

The officer’s name — identified as “chief of station” in Kabul — was included by U.S. embassy staff on a list of 15 senior American officials who met with President Obama during the Saturday visit. The list was sent to a Washington Post reporter who was representing the news media, who then sent it out to the White House “press pool” list, which contains as many as 6,000 recipients.   Continue reading “White House mistakenly reveals CIA official’s name”

image“They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power.”
