New York Times – by TIMOTHY WILLIAMS

The number of exonerations in the United States of those wrongly convicted of a crime increased to a record 87 during 2013, and of that number, nearly one in five had initially pleaded guilty to charges filed against them, according to a report to be released on Tuesday as part of a project led by two university law schools.

Nearly half of the exonerations — 40 — were based on murder convictions, including that of a man wrongly convicted and subsequently sentenced to death in the fatal stabbing of a fellow inmate in a Missouri prison in 1983, according to the report by the National Registry of Exonerations. The registry is a joint program of the University of Michigan Law School and the Center on Wrongful Convictions at Northwestern University School of Law.   Continue reading “Study Puts Exonerations at Record Level in U.S.”

On Monday, an Arizona state senate committee became the first legislative body in the country to pass a bill designed to thwart surveillance programs from the National Security Agency (NSA).

Senate Bill 1156 (SB1156), the Arizona 4th Amendment Protection Act, was introduced by Sen. Kelli Ward and 14 other sponsors and co-sponsors.   Continue reading “First in the nation: Arizona senate committee passes 4th Amendment Protection Act”

The following documents were obtained via a public records request made by members of Occupy Oakland.  The documents concern the Oakland Police Department response to protests against the 2013 Urban Shield homeland security exercise held in Alameda County.  Urban Shield is an annual exercise event that features nearly fifty different training scenarios for law enforcement ranging from simulated terrorist attacks conducted by “homegrown extremists” to hostage situations, fires and even natural disasters.   Continue reading “Oakland Police Department Urban Shield 2013 Protest Documentation”

The Missouri Senate’s General Laws Committee voted 5-1 last week in favor of a bill that purports to make it a crime for federal law enforcement agents to enforce the nation’s gun laws. Under the bill’s terms, these agents could be imprisoned for up to a year and be fined up to $1,000.

Much of this unconstitutional legislation mirrors a bill Gov. Jay Nixon (D) vetoed last year. In September, Missouri’s overwhelmingly Republican senate came just one vote shy of the votes necessary to override Nixon’s veto. Like the bill Nixon vetoed last year, the new legislation contains a provision to arm public school personnel. It also would lower the minimum age to receive a concealed weapons permit from 21 to 19.   Continue reading “Missouri Senate Committee Votes To Jail Federal Agents Who Enforce Gun Laws”

Cancer cases worldwide are predicted to increase by 70% over the next two decades, from 14m in 2012 to 25m new cases a year, according to the World Health Organisation.

The latest World Cancer Report says it is implausible to think we can treat our way out of the disease and that the focus must now be on preventing new cases. Even the richest countries will struggle to cope with the spiralling costs of treatment and care for patients, and the lower income countries, where numbers are expected to be highest, are ill-equipped for the burden to come.   Continue reading “Worldwide cancer cases expected to soar by 70% over next 20 years”

The powers that run this world – The New World Order, The Illuminati, United Nations, Etc – are hell-bent (literally) on bringing America as far down as they can drag her. They are working day and night to blur the lines between male and female, right and wrong, God and the Devil, so that in the end it’s just one mongrel mass of chaos. And while they do it, they would love for you to “have a Coke and a smile”.   Continue reading “Coca-Cola Under Fire For Mostly Non-English Super Bowl Commercial Featuring ‘America The Beautiful’”

Political prankster Mark Dice has once again documented how many young Americans are completely disconnected from reality, capturing California college students signing a fake petition to imprison all legal gun owners in concentration camps and even to have them executed.

“We just want to make sure we disarm the citizens. We can trust the government to be the only ones with guns.” Dice said to students on campus in San Diego, while they unquestioningly signed the petition to “repeal the Second Amendment.”   Continue reading “Students Sign Petition To Have Gun Owners Executed In Concentration Camps”

I know there is always security at these Super Bowl games … never used to be. It started after 9/11 when Bush ordered our military air defenses to stand down and sent away from the NYC area during 9/11. It continued after all these false flags where Blackwater-style mercenary contractors, or agency provocateurs, started placing patsies in various situations causing fear to be induced into the public like the Aurora shooting, the Sandy Hook shooting, the Boston Bombing etc.

The American people have been increasingly subjected to tighter and tighter security i.e. through TSA and DHS. Yet, we have NOT managed to catch even ONE terrorist. Now Constitutionalists are being called the new “terrorists”. Really?   Continue reading “For those who think we’ve always had security at Super Bowls”

As the NFL was clearing out of MetLife Stadium following another Super Bowl XLVIII, snow started to hit the region. We missed our first Snow Bowl by a matter of hours.

Of course, you could make the joke that the Seattle Seahawks‘ blizzard snowed under the Denver Broncos, but the real white stuff didn’t make its way to East Rutherford, N.J. until the early-morning hours of Monday, Feb. 3 — once nearly everyone cleared out of the stadium.   Continue reading “Snow waits until after Super Bowl XLVIII to finish to hit MetLife Stadium”

Want to avoid becoming part of the cancer epidemic?  Here’s a good rule of thumb: If you wouldn’t eat it, perhaps you shouldn’t rub it on your skin.

Of course, this is oversimplified – there are many natural cosmetics that are not really items you’d want to ingest, but the principal is sound.  Why?  First of all, because your skin is permeable, and it’s only 1/10th of an inch thick!  So anything that you put on your skin has easy access to your bloodstream. Secondly, many of these chemicals cause toxic vapors that pose serious risk when inhaled. Add this to the steam of the shower, and those vapors have even easier access to your lungs.
The Environmental Working Group, and EcoWatch have assembled a list of the 7 most dangerous chemical additives in cosmetics.   Continue reading “If Looks Could Kill: Is Your Beauty Regimen Putting You at Risk for Cancer?”
