On Thursday evening, we chronicled the latest in the drama that is Syria’s horrific civil war, noting that,according to an Israeli defense source, “hundreds” of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards are on the ground in Syria fighting alongside the Russians to support Bashar al-Assad’s depleted forces as they battle to regain control of the country.
If true, that would answer the following question which we’ve been asking for quite some time: will Iran remain on the sidelines and allow the Houthis to be routed in Yemen and Assad deposed in Syria, or will Tehran, like Moscow, finally decide that the time for rhetoric has come to an end? An armed suspect was shot and killed Thursday after leading deputies on a high-speed, multi-city chase in California that turned into a hostage standoff, authorities said.
The suspect – whose name has not been released – allegedly carjacked two vehicles through the streets of Los Angeles County. The man was seen weaving in and out of traffic, driving on the wrong side of the road and barreling through intersections, nearly crashing into several oncoming cars. PARIS, France (KTRK) — Forget about $40 oil. A new report from Goldman Sachs says the ongoing high global surplus in oil could drive prices as low as $20 a barrel.
Oil supply from the United States, Russia and other non-OPEC countries is expected to drop sharply next year – possibly the steepest decline since the Soviet Union collapsed – because of the low prices, the International Energy Agency forecast Friday. The FBI is warning that an ISIS-inspired group of hackers is threatening to mark today’s anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks with a new cyber-assault against U.S. government-related websites.
Twitter users claiming to be associated with the group, branding themselves with the “hashtag” moniker #AmericaUnderHacks, have already been posting online what they say is sensitive information about U.S. government personnel. But the information is available through basic Internet searches and is “recycled” from several years ago, sources told ABC News. A young Jewish American man has been charged with pretending to be an Australian-based Islamic State jihadist after a FBI joint investigation with the Australian Federal Police based on information provided by Fairfax Media.
Joshua Ryne Goldberg, a 20-year old living at his parents’ house in US state of Florida, is accused of posing online as “Australi Witness,” an IS supporter who publicly called for a series of attacks against individuals and events in western countries. HELENA – Montana lawmakers prodded federal officials Wednesday for facts and reasons explaining the closure of roads on public lands around the state.
Members of the Environmental Quality Council took their first look at data detailing road access at a quarterly meeting in Helena.

More than 50 intelligence analysts working out of the U.S. military’s Central Command have formally complained that their reports on ISIS and al Qaeda’s branch in Syria were being inappropriately altered by senior officials, The Daily Beast has learned.
The complaints spurred the Pentagon’s inspector general to open an investigation into the alleged manipulation of intelligence. The fact that so many people complained suggests there are deep-rooted, systemic problems in how the U.S. military command charged with the war against the self-proclaimed Islamic State assesses intelligence. The former CEO of a Towson credit union and her husband — a Baltimore County police sergeant — are charged with stealing more than $100,000 from the financial institution, authorities said.
Tina M. Galloway, 44, managed the HealthCare United Federal Credit Union, which serves employees of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Sheppard Pratt Hospital. She and her husband, Sgt.
