The Senate is heading toward a battle over Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) “Audit the Fed” legislation, giving the GOP presidential candidate a long-desired floor fight.

Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.) — who said he was acting on behalf of Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) — set up a procedural vote on Paul’s legislation for Tuesday, Jan. 12, the same day as President Obama’s final State of the Union address.    Continue reading “Senate sets up vote in January on Rand Paul’s ‘Audit the Fed’ bill”

ISIS terrorists have often lamented, “if only we had an air force to provide air cover when we are fighting in the field.” Yesterday they got their wish (again).

The dubious US-led ‘Anti-ISIL Coalition’ continues to spiral out of control. As Iraqi soldiers closed in on ISIS terrorists on the ground, a US airstrike struck their column – killing approximately 20 Iraqi soldiers and injuring at least 30 more (see full report below). Additional casualty reports could rise over the coming days.   Continue reading “‘ISIS Air Force’: US Airstrike Takes Out Battalion of Iraqi Troops Who Were Battling ISIS”

Oh d-d-d-dear! A little pig had a big adventure Thursday afternoon.

Bartlett Police Department posted a picture of the loose pig near the intersection of North Germantown Parkway and Cinders Road.

One of the officers had to use donuts to lure the pig to safety before the Bartlett Animal Shelter could intervene.   Continue reading “Irony: Cops Use Donuts To Lure Loose Pig”

A Los Angeles police officer on Saturday fatally shot a man who officials said was reaching for a policeman’s gun inside a Torrance, California hospital.

The shooting comes at a time of heightened scrutiny over police use of force in the wake of high-profile killings of unarmed black men, which have sparked waves of angry protests across the country since mid-2014.   Continue reading “Los Angeles police officer fatally shoots man inside hospital”

The Second Amendment does not protect an individual’s right to own a firearm. This narrative was developed by the National Rifle Association in the late 1970s, out of fear that further gun control laws would eliminate private ownership of firearms altogether.

For 200 years following the ratification of the Second Amendment, federal judgesunderstood that the Second Amendment safeguarded the right to keep and bear arms when serving in a state militia. This view was widely held until the 1980s when pro-gun organizations began claiming that federal regulation of the individual use of firearms violated Americans’ Second Amendment rights.   Continue reading “Extreme BS Alert: Stop Hiding Behind the Second Amendment”

For the last several years, people around the world have asked, “Where did ISIS come from?” Explanations vary, but largely focus on geopolitical (U.S. hegemony), religious (Sunni-Shia), ideological (Wahhabism) or ecological (climate refugees) origins. Many commentators and even former military officials correctly suggest that the war in Iraq is primarily responsible for unleashing the forces we now know as ISIS, ISIL, Daesh, etc. Here, hopefully I can add some useful reflections and anecdotes.   Continue reading “I Helped Create ISIS”

California Governor Jerry Brown on Friday declared a state of emergency in San Bernardino County, following the massacre by an Islamic State-inspired couple at a holiday party for county workers.

Because the 14 people killed and 26 wounded in the terrorist attack were largely employees in the county’s environmental health department, the massacre left San Bernardino County with too few health inspectors and others needed to carry out critical work, Brown said in his emergency proclamation.   Continue reading “California governor declares emergency in response to San Bernardino attack”

“A school district in Kentucky has ordered all administrators under its jurisdiction to remove religious references from Christmas productions, leading one facility to censor its planned elementary presentation of A Charlie Brown Christmas by blotting out “the Gospel of Luke read by little Linus,” Cheryl Chumley reports at WND.

“It disappoints me that we have to do this,” Chumley quotes Superintendent Tom Salyer saying. According to WND, “Salyer said he was a church-going man who was simply following advice from the Johnson County school district attorneys.”   Continue reading “Kentucky School Censors ‘Charlie Brown’ Christmas”

Congress on Friday adopted [and Obama signed] a $1.15 trillion spending package that included a controversial cybersecurity measure that only passed because it was slipped into the US government’s budget legislation.

House Speaker Paul Ryan, a Republican of Wisconsin, inserted the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA) into the Omnibus Appropriations Bill—which includes some $620 billion in tax breaks for business and low-income wage earners. Ryan’s move was a bid to prevent lawmakers from putting a procedural hold on the CISA bill and block it from a vote. Because CISA was tucked into the government’s overall spending package on Wednesday, it had to pass or the government likely would have had to cease operating next week.   Continue reading “Obama signs surveillance legislation tucked into budget package”

Kuwait Airways just cut off its nose to spite its face.

The airline cancelled its highly profitable flight from New York to London to avoid doing business with Israeli passengers.

According to the New York Post, Kuwait Airways pulled the flight from New York’s JFK Airport to London’s Heathrow Airport because Kuwait prohibits its citizens from doing business with citizens of the Jewish state.    Continue reading “Kuwait Airways Pulls Profitable Flight to Avoid Doing Business With Israelis”

Much hay has been made in recent days about a YouTube video posted by a blacksmith named Trenton Tye, who tries to debunk the theory that the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Building 7 were destroyed by controlled demolition.

Within the first two days of being posted, Tye’s video received five million views and was covered by the Washington Post, the Daily Mirror, and the Huffington Post — the latter with the celebratory headline, “Metal Worker Shuts Down 9/11 Truthers… With His Pinkie.”   Continue reading “AE911Truth’s Statement on the Viral Blacksmith YouTube Video”

The state of Michigan is hypersensitive, particularly to Baker, and his operation.

Though yesterday’s ‘raid’ became less than eventful, it reminds us that the jackboot bureaucracy is always waiting for the slightest screw up by those whom it deems its ‘enemy.’ Mark is appreciative of those who on a moment’s notice showed up to witness.
