Just a few days before the universal gun owner registration bill kicks in, it appears that the Oregon State Police are planning on collecting data on sellers of guns, not just buyers.

We’ve been telling you all along that SB 941 was never intended to be anything but a vast database of gun owners and now it’s being proven to be all too true.

Starting today, gun dealers are seeing a new interface on their computer screens when they log in to conduct a background check on a gun sale. BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A group of residents in northern Idaho lined up outside a U.S. Navy veteran’s house on Thursday to protest claims that federal officials are planning on confiscating the man’s weapons.

Authorities said Thursday they are investigating whether a group of armed bounty hunters who mistakenly swarmed the Phoenix police chief’s home were the victims of a prank.

It will take time to probe the social media tip that led 11 people to believe a fugitive was hiding in Chief Joe Yahner’s house, Phoenix police spokesman Trent Crump said. The gunman who has been on the run since killing a young Louisiana police officer who confronted him while on duty was arrested Thursday afternoon, according to Louisiana State Police.

Grover Deandre Cannon, 27, who was arrested after he allegedly shot four-year police veteran Thomas LaValley, was already wanted in connection with a July 15 shooting when LaValley confronted him while responding to a report of a suspicious person. KINGSVILLE, TX — A panel of judges unanimously held that the presence of bumper stickers, air fresheners, and religious symbols in a vehicle can be considered “reasonable suspicion of criminal activity” during a traffic stop.

The case stems from a March 9, 2011, traffic stop that took place along U.S. Highway 77 in Kingsville, Texas.  Officer Mike Tamez of the Kingsville Police Department observed a Chevy Tahoe with a woman behind the wheel, going 2 MPH above the posted speed limit. The family vehicle had a man in the passenger seat and a young girl in the back. The Denver division of the FBI issued an alert to law enforcement in Colorado and Wyoming over suspicious behavior from “Middle-Eastern males” who have approached families members of military personnel in recent weeks.

A lawyer representing the family of a Seneca teenager who was shot by police Sunday night said the autopsy shows that Zachary Hammond was shot from behind and his car was not moving, contrary to police reports that the car veered toward the officer during a drug sting.

After Dylann Roof walked into an African American church in Charleston and opened fire in June, leaving nine people dead, Confederate flags and monuments around the country began to come down because of the shooter’s presumed racial motivations.
