Self-admitted “undocumented” farm workers gathered in Olympia, WA, to protest work conditions at Driscoll’s fruit farms. With the help of an interpreter, they complained about having to work in varying weather conditions, such as rain, cold, and heat, you know, the things that come along with working in fields. BELGRADE, Serbia — Serbia’s authorities are investigating reports that a cargo package bound for Portland contained two missiles with explosive warheads on a passenger flight from Lebanon.

The Stars and Stripes originated as a result of a resolution adopted by the Marine Committee of the Second Continental Congress at Philadelphia on June 14, 1777, for use on military installations, on ships, and in battle, directing that a U.S. flag consist of 13 stripes, alternating red and white; that a union be 13 stars, white in a blue field, representing a new Constellation. Mr. Cleanface’s Dirty Laundry: Harry Reid’s Mob Money revisited a 1979 Justice Department probe into allegations that Midwestern Mafia members skimming funds from the Tropicana casino had channeled bribes to Nevada Gaming Commission chairman Harry Reid through mob lawyer Oscar Goodman and Tropicana attorney Jay H. Brown. Although the probe officially cleared Reid, he subsequently received numerous contributions from gambling industry figures, including Brown and known Mafia-associates as well as legitimate individuals and corporations. Reid’s son Rory has followed in his footsteps by associating with his father’s patrons in the gambling industry, which is the subject of this post. MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A criminal and internal investigation is underway at Kellogg’s after a video surfaced online that appears to show a man filming himself urinating on products on an assembly line.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Friday 11 March, attacked the weekly nonviolent protest against the apartheid Wall and the illegal Israeli settlements, in Bil’in village, west of Ramallah, and the weekly nonviolent protest in Al-Nabi Saleh village, causing dozens to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation on both demonstrations.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Seventeen-year-olds who will turn 18 before the fall presidential election can vote in Ohio’s presidential primary, a judge ruled Friday in a potential boost for Democrat Bernie Sanders as he fights to open elections across the country to the young people who are among his key supporters.
The judge’s decision reversed instructions from the swing state’s election chief just days before Tuesday’s primary and amid early voting. Republican Secretary of State Jon Husted initially vowed to appeal the ruling, then opted not to fight it after a state appeals court set a hearing for Monday. Governor Kate Brown laments over the “gun safety” bills that were defeated in the recent Oregon legislative session. “I will be working to develop legislation for the 2017 session and explore what might be achieved using my executive powers” she said at a press conference last week. When asked to clarify, she struggles to form complete sentences and unloads a string of “uhhh” and “ummm”, while trying to say she wants to keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn’t have them, which is already the law, which was further bolstered by the passage of SB941 in the 2016 session. Donald Trump‘s Chicago rally Friday night was canceled as large crowds of protesters amassed inside and outside the venue, leading organizers to fear for the safety of those gathered.
Five arrests were made and two police officers were injured, interim Chicago Police Superintendent John Escalante said during a press conference Saturday night. Of those five arrests, two each were made by the Chicago Police Department and University of Illinois police, and one arrest was made by Illinois State Police. Keith Emerson, founding member and keyboardist of Emerson, Lake and Palmer and a prog rock legend, died Friday. He was 71. His bandmate Carl Palmer and the trio’s official Facebook confirmed Emerson’s death. TMZ reported that police found Emerson with a single gunshot wound to the head, though they could not confirm that Emerson died by suicide. “We regret to announce that Keith Emerson died last night at his home in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, aged 71.
