Two people died Wednesday in an apparent murder-suicide that had a Texas community college on lock down for about two hours, police said.
“We have what appears to be one victim deceased & the shooter has committed suicide,” the Irving Police Department tweeted. It did not appear anyone else was hurt in the shooting at North Lake College, Irving police spokesman James McLellan said. India’s government asserted to the country’s Supreme Court that citizens don’t have “absolute” rights over their bodies, and the privacy argument is “bogus.” They were discussing a controversial new system, allegedly used to fight fake IDs.

There aren’t any surefire ways to tell if the stock market, and perhaps the rest of the economy, is about to take a nosedive. That’s because millions of people with millions of ideas are involved, so it’s an inherently unpredictable system. However, there are certain players in our economy that have a lot more influence and insider knowledge than the rest of us. So when they make a move in unison, you know there’s a good chance that something is about to go down.
And that’s exactly what’s going on with the stock market right now. FBI Director James Comey hit back Wednesday against Democratic criticism of his decision to reopen the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails 11 days before the 2016 election.

Danish artist Thomas Dambo is like a folk-art Michelangelo of scrap materials. And he’s always thinking outside of the box. His large-scale projects go beyond making something nice to look at; they have interactive qualities that invite the viewer to be participant as well. For example, his utterly awesome recycled holiday village in the middle of Copenhagen which invited shoppers to come in and make DIY gifts from recycled things, all for free. House Republicans released its $1.1 trillion 1,665 page spending bill that includes an average of approximately 210 words per page — —or about twice as long as the stimulus law (the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act”) that President Barack Obama signed less than a month after his inauguration in 2009.

After dozens of anarchists allegedly caused more than $100,000 in damage to new buildings and high-end cars Monday night in North Philadelphia, two of them apparently became trapped between groups of residents on either end of the short 1500 block of North Palethorp Street.
“Everyone is coming out, and they are surrounding these people, and there’s the two of them completely alone. … Immediately they started changing clothes, sat on a stoop, and said they were waiting for a friend,” said Amberlynn Kabana, a neighborhood resident and real estate agent. “We held them until police arrived. … They picked the wrong spot to come in and terrorize people.” Continue reading “N. We witnessed some much needed truth-telling last month when Bolivia’s ambassador to the UN deconstructed Nikki Haley’s word goo at the Security Council: “Now the United States believe that they are investigators, they are attorneys, judges and they are the executioners … The unilateral actions are imperialistic actions. Washington, 2 May (Argus) — The US Defense Department wants to prolong a drilling ban in the eastern part of the US Gulf of Mexico, an area the oil industry is lobbying President Donald Trump’s administration to open for leasing.
The area is estimated to contain 3.6bn bl of technically recoverable oil and 11.5 Tcf of natural gas but is largely off-limits to drilling until 2022. Existing infrastructure like pipelines from development elsewhere in the Gulf makes the region particularly attractive to oil and gas producers, but military officials worry that drilling and production activity could impede use of the area for training and testing. Yet Trump says, “We’re very happy with it”. Happy America just went further in debt.
