Over the weekend, about 600 migrants arrived via train in the northern Mexican city of Hermosillo, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday. The group plans to continue to Tijuana in the next few days. Continue reading “Reports: ‘Caravan Migrants’ Waiting to Cross Mexico-California Border”

The law originally targetted the KKK. Now it has been used to arrest people protesting against white supremacists.
And that is why free speech is so important.
Plenty of people would love to see new laws to stop white supremacists from exercising their–albeit offensive–free speech. Continue reading “If You Limit ANY Free Speech, This is What You Get”

Every day, we make a million small decisions. What we’ll eat for lunch, who to ask a question at the office, which route to take home, whether we should pick up takeout or cook dinner, if we want to take a walk, who will drive the kids to practice, and when to go to bed.
None of these things seems overly important, but sometimes the small decisions can have big effects. Sometimes they don’t really matter, and sometimes they can be the difference whether you live or die. Continue reading “The Big Importance of Small Decisions”

Increasingly it appears that the recent US coalition missile strikes on Syria have utterly backfired:instead of weakening Syria or degrading its military capabilities, the attack may have actually served to strengthen Syria’s defenses.
Since the massive strike which involved the US, UK, and France launching over 100 cruise missiles, Russia is rumored to be moving forward on delivery of its advanced S-300 missile defense system, which would be a monumental upgrade allowing Syrian defenses to far surpass current capabilities which utilize the Soviet-made S-125 and S-200 air defense systems. The US is reeling from another tragedy this week after a deranged madman walked into a Tennessee Waffle House and began firing rounds from an AR-15 which he was not allowed to have. Gun control measures that were in place—and actually led to the confiscation of Travis Reinking’s guns—did not stop this killer from carrying out the sick thoughts in his head.
Gun control was in place and it failed. What’s more, less than 48 hours after Reinking murdered four people in a Waffle House, another mentally ill man with a seeming thirst for blood went on a killing rampage in Canada, who has some of the strictest gun laws in the world. Border-law loopholes are incentivizing migrants to use other people’s children as human shields to get themselves into the United States, according to the New York Times.
The admission is buried in a New York Times article decrying the countermeasure by the Department of Homeland Security, which is now housing roughly 700 border-crossing children in different facilities from the people who claim to be their parents. The New York Times admitted: Continue reading “NYTimes: Migrants Use Others’ Children to Trigger ‘Catch and Release’”
Monday on Power 105.1 FM’s “The Breakfast Club,” Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) said she was focused on the 2018 midterm election to help get people elected who she described as having “the courage” to enact specific gun control measures.
Harris said, “In this discussion when we are talking about school safety, there are things we need to address that include thinking about why this is an issue. And part of it is that we have not passed meaningful, smart gun safety laws in this country.
