Following reports that a flood of New Zealand gun owners have been voluntarily surrending their firearms in the wake of last Friday’s Christchurch mosque attack that left 50 dead, the numbers are in on how many Kiwis actually handed over their weapons.

Out of an estimated 1.2 million registered guns, New Zealand police report that as of Tuesday night, 37 firearms have been surrendered nationwide, according to BuzzFeedContinue reading “After Multiple Reports About New Zealanders Turning In Guns, Guess How Many Actually Did It?”

NEW YORK — Nearly 6 in 10 Americans believe the First Amendment is under threat, according to a new survey, yet a large portion of respondents couldn’t correctly name what the amendment protects.

Of the 2,000 adults who took part in the poll, half thought that “liberty” is one of the five freedoms protected by the First Amendment, while nearly half (49 percent) believed “the pursuit of happiness” was included. Thankfully, only 3 percent named “life” as one of the protected freedoms.  Continue reading “Stunning Survey Shows Half Of Americans Don’t Know All First Amendment Freedoms”

I was really planning on staying out of the whole vaccine debate because I don’t think anyone anywhere ever changed their minds because they read a blog post once. What I can’t, in good conscience, stay out of is the censorship and propaganda surrounding this debate.

I read an article on CNN that was incredibly sad. A mother who had lost her young son to influenza was allegedly “attacked by anti-vaxxers.”  The report said:  Continue reading “Here’s Exactly How Ugly and Personal the Vaccine Debate Has Become”

Border patrol officers will start releasing many of the myriad migrants crossing the Rio Grande without even going through the formalities of temporary detention or strapping removable tracking-devices to the migrants’ ankles, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

The policy comes as the migrant wave is expected to reach 100,000 this month, and shortly after Congress again refused to seriously fund a border wall or to fund additional detention beds for migrants, to penalize companies which hire illegals, or to reform border laws or even to bar the courts from cutting loopholes in the border laws. The Wall Street Journal reportedContinue reading “Border Rush: Guards to Release Migrants Without Detention, Ankle Monitors, Says Wall Street Journal”

Tension between South Beach spring breakers and older, richer, and stodgier residents has been leading up to this moment for years.

But yesterday’s revelation was still shocking. Miami Beach officials announced that for the rest of spring break, 25-member teams of police in riot gear will patrol Ocean Drive and the beaches. And the city will park police vans, ATVs, and barricades on the beach to chuck noncompliant visitors into paddy wagons and cart them off to jail.  Continue reading “Armored Police Riot Squads Will Now Patrol Miami Beach Spring Break Crowds”

New Zealand will ban military-style semi-automatic and assault rifles under tough new gun laws following the killing of 50 people in the country’s worst mass shooting, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on Thursday.

In the immediate aftermath of Friday’s shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, Ms Ardern labelled the attack as terrorism and said New Zealand’s gun laws would change. Continue reading “New Zealand Prime Minister announces immediate ban on all assault weapons”

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 20, 2019) – On Monday, Governor Asa Hutchinson signed a bill that reforms Arkansas’ asset forfeiture laws to prohibit the state from taking a person’s property without a criminal conviction in most situations. Current law already takes a step toward shutting a loophole that would allow state and local police to circumvent the more stringent state asset forfeiture process by passing cases off to the feds.

Sen Bart Hester (R-Cave Springs) introduced Senate Bill 308 (SB308) on Feb. 12. The new law specifically ends civil asset forfeiture in most Arkansas cases and replaces it with a criminal procedure. Under the law, prosecutors cannot proceed with forfeiture without a criminal conviction in all but a handful of cases.  Continue reading “Signed by the Governor: Arkansas Law to End Civil Asset Forfeiture”

MOST OF THE Americans arrived in Port-au-Prince from the U.S. by private jet early on the morning of February 16. They’d packed the eight-passenger charter plane with a stockpile of semiautomatic rifles, handguns, Kevlar bulletproof vests, and knives. Most had been paid already: $10,000 each up front, with another $20,000 promised to each man after they finished the job.

A trio of politically connected Haitians greeted the Americans when their plane landed around 5 a.m. An aide to embattled Haitian President Jovenel Moïse and two other regime-friendly Haitians whisked them through the country’s biggest airport, avoiding customs and immigration agents, who had not yet reported for work.  Continue reading “U.S. Mercenaries Arrested In Haiti Were Part Of A Half-Baked Scheme To Move $80 Million For Embattled President”

Missouri may have just made the most monumental step towards freedom and individual liberty since the signing of the Bill of Rights. In an upcoming vote by Missouri’s state senate, the state is expected to pass a bill that would nullify ALL Federal gun laws and regulations, and make enforcement of those laws by federal officers within the State of Missouri a criminal offense. Republicans control both U.S. Senate seats and more than two-thirds of the seats in both the Missouri House and Senate.  Continue reading “Missouri Senate Bans All Federal Gun Control Laws in Proposed Bill”

So, I did it this morning. About a month ago, I begrudgingly filled out my PA renewal application for my gun “permit” and before the 45 days was up, I took the 18 mile drive to take care of the miserable, infuriating business of picking it up at the Montgomery County Court House.

Norristown, where it is located, is a steaming shit hole and they claim you can check your firearm into a lockbox upon entering, but my previous experience has been less than cordial in exercising my Rights and submitting to their abuses at the security post. In the past, this action has resulted in my having to explain to them their own policies and THE LAW It is EXTREMELY dangerous and I am in no mood for their brand of stupid before work today. I therefore am forced to travel through their ghetto unarmed with my firearms locked in my car.  Continue reading “Being Serviced by my Public Servant… Ouch.”

On March 14, 2019, New Zealand sustained its deadliest mass shootings in modern history when a gunman, 28-year-old Brenton Tarrant, killed 50 people and injured another 50 at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. The media immediately identified Tarrant as that most noxious of all monsters — “an alt-right affiliated white supremacist”. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a controversial set of bills that make it a crime to “disrespect” the state and spread “fake news” online, Russian media reported on Monday.

The bills amending existing information laws overwhelmingly passed both chambers of Russian parliament in less than two months. Observers and some lawmakers have criticized the legislation for its vague language and potential to stifle free speech.  Continue reading “Putin Signs ‘Fake News,’ ‘Internet Insults’ Bills Into Law”

Globally, those who are poor or marginalized because of their identities pay far more than the rich to acquire clean water.

That’s according to the new World Water Development Report (WWDR 2019), which is published annually by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization’s World Water Assessment Program (UNESCO-WWAP). This year’s report, entitled Leaving No One Behind, was unveiled Tuesday at an ongoing session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.  Continue reading “UNESCO Report Shows World’s Most Vulnerable and Poor Paying More Than Rich for Clean Water”

Reading, PA — As TFTP reported last year, Pennsylvania State Troopers garnered national attention following a deadly officer-involved incident whereby a man was killed by a bulldozer commandeered by one of their officers. Gregory Longenecker, 51, was run over by the bulldozer and killed as the PA State Trooper and the dozer operated by the PA Game Commission were supposedly attempting to flush him out. Now, after police refused to hold their own accountable, Longnecker’s family is seeking justice in the form of a lawsuit.
