Federal immigration officials in Arizona plan to place in a hotel migrant families who have illegally come across the U.S.-Mexico border as part of an effort to avoid openly releasing people onto the street, according to a border mayor.
Family Endeavors, a nonprofit organization, will take over a local hotel in Yuma, Arizona, where it will hold families who have been transferred from the custody of Border Patrol to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Families are only expected to stay in the hotels for three days before being transported to shelters across Arizona and California when they are released into the United States, according to the top city official. A seemingly unprovoked weekend violence spree through Atlanta’s ritzy Buckhead neighborhood has highlighted what area officials see as a need for more security and public safety protocols, as the recent crime jump has made some residents too scared to even pump gas at certain places, Fox News has learned.

Israeli forces have launched airstrikes on Gaza, the first offensive since a new coalition government took power, coming just weeks after an 11-day conflict with the Palestinian enclave.
Blasts were heard at multiple locations in Gaza around 1:00am local time on Wednesday, Reuters and AFP reported, while a radio station operated by the Hamas militant group said strikes targeted a Palestinian training camp. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the operations in a statement on Twitter, also sharing footage of one of the strikes. Starting Fall 2021 , Rhodes College will charge unvaccinated students $1,500 per semester to “cover the costs of mandatory testing.”
The school, located in Memphis, Tennessee, announced the policy in a June 8 letter.
Rhodes College will require the COVID-19 vaccine for all students, staff, and faculty on campus after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) formally approves the vaccines. Simone Scott, a 19-year-old freshman at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., died June 11 of complications from a heart transplant she underwent after developing what her doctors believe was myocarditis following her second dose of the Moderna COVID vaccine.
Scott received her second dose of Moderna on May 1, WLWT 5 reported. When the 2020 Mason High School graduate and senior class vice president paid a surprise visit to her parents for Mother’s Day, May 9, her mother said she noticed Scott wasn’t feeling well. Philips is recalling millions of devices — including sleep apnea machines and ventilators used for coronavirus patients — over concerns that a component could cause cancer and respiratory problems, the company said Monday.

Many countries have turned to vaccines to address the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, a number of scientists have proposed the use of “self-spreading vaccines” that transmit immunity instead of sickness. While the concept itself has not been implemented in real life, it is not entirely without risk.
The concept first emerged in a 2018 Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health report. According to the report by the institution’s Center for Health Security (CHS), self-spreading vaccines “could dramatically increase coverage” in human populations without the need for inoculating persons one at a time. Pastor Jim Stephens of Fairview Baptist Church in Alberta was arrested in front of his family on Monday, a week after the government seized his church building and forced his congregation to worship underground.
Stephens was also arrested briefly last month, but the charges were dropped when authorities realized they had forgotten to serve the pastor with the court order they were accusing him of violating.
