Remember the media-stoked controversy over Donald Trump declaring that he was a “nationalist”?  Sample headline in USA Today: “‘I am a nationalist’: Trump’s embrace of controversial label sparks uproar.”  That uproar might seem hard to recall now, because it was all the way back on … October 23.

As President Donald Trump prepares to send 5,200 troops to Mexican border to block some 4,000 Central American asylum-seekers, Catholic leaders are urging governments to address the underlying causes of migration while reminding people that seeking asylum is not a crime.

A caravan now estimated at 7,000 people is currently making its way north. Secretary of Defense James Mattis claims that it’s not enough for the United States to have advanced weapons on Earth, but in order for the nation to be safe, the country needs weapons in space. Mattis alleges that in order to protect the American way of life, the Pentagon must be prepared for the deployment and usage of offensive weapons in space.

“We are going to have to be prepared to use offensive weapons in space should someone decide to militarize it and go on the offensive,” said the retired Marine who took over the Pentagon in January 2017, according to RT. The U.S. Border Patrol this week reportedly told Texas landowners along the U.S.-Mexico border to prepare for a possible influx of “armed civilians” on their property as the migrant caravan moves closer to the U.S., a report said.

The leading analysts repeatedly stated that the U.S. has failed to overthrow President Bashar Assad. Recently, The National Interest reporter and researcher, Doug Bandow, has made sure of it during his trip to Damascus. He claims “at long last, the conflict is winding down. Assad has won, and Washington has lost, and America’s approach has been a disastrous failure.’

Meanwhile, the Trump administration is considering the possibility of changing the current political course that previously hasn’t led to any success. Today a new strategy for the war in Syria is hastily working out.
