Common Dreams – by Glenn Greenwald

A Texas-based encrypted email service recently revealed to be used by Edward Snowden – Lavabit – announced yesterday it was shutting itself down in order to avoid complying with what it perceives as unjust secret US court orders to provide government access to its users’ content. “After significant soul searching, I have decided to suspend operations,” the company’s founder, Ladar Levinson, wrote in a statement to users posted on the front page of its website. He said the US directive forced on his company “a difficult decision: to become complicit in crimes against the American people or walk away from nearly ten years of hard work by shutting down Lavabit.” He chose the latter.   Continue reading “Lavabit’s Brave Stand: Email Service Shuts Down”

Insult to Injury: Police at the Wisconsin capitol are not just continuing to arrest protesters, Solidarity Singers and residents – including at least one legislator – for simply watching democracy in action; they are arresting veterans, including Veterans for Peace attending their annual convention in Madison.   Continue reading “Give Us Our Flag!”

Charitable hospitals that treat uninsured Americans will be subjected to new levels of scrutiny of their nonprofit status and could face sizable new fines under Obamacare.

A new provision in Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code, which takes effect under Obamacare, sets new standards of review and installs new financial penalties for tax-exempt charitable hospitals, which devote a minimum amount of their expenses to treat uninsured poor people. Approximately 60 percent of American hospitals are currently nonprofit.   Continue reading “Obamacare installs new scrutiny, fines for charitable hospitals that treat uninsured people”

Following my recent post ‘The Home Invasion Dilemma – Discussion& Scenarios’ I have received many comments asking me for the ‘solution’ and pointing out that the scenario as laid out in my article is a no-win situation, or at least one with no good outcome.

Well, there are two solutions to the scenario laid out. It’s just that you may not like either of them. That is really the point isn’t it? The scenario ‘as laid out’ is actually the situation that most of us find ourselves in, so if we are victims of a HIT raid these are the choices we face. As such, it really points out the unacceptable situation we live in today, suffering from this authoritarian tyranny. As one commenter described: “Something has just gone seriously wrong in the US culturally, a mild discursive / ideological pseudo-mental illness that may not be healed any time soon.”   Continue reading “Solutions – Follow Up to The Home Invasion Dilemma”

Back to school time means there won’t be any more daily cries of, “I’m booooooored!”  It means the end of those impromptu trips to the beach or the pool. It means that your house will be a little tidier, you will get a little more done, and your kids will get to see friends that they haven’t seen since the school doors closed at the beginning of the summer.

It also means that it’s time for mom and dad to spend some money.   Continue reading “Back to School on a Budget”

The US government’s treatment of wounded and ill American soldiers who return to their country is “a betrayal”, says James Henry Fetzer, an editor at Veterans Today.

The Colorado Springs Gazette published a comprehensive account in May which showed a growing number of wounded and mentally ill American soldiers are being kicked out of the service for misconduct related to their wartime injuries, often with no benefits.    Continue reading “US ‘betrays’ its own soldiers”

The following are a few examples of the New Math as practiced by the banking elite.

Mervyn King was until just recently the Governor of the Bank of England. In April he sold 1,350 metric tons of gold to drive down the price of gold. But after selling all of that gold, he still had 300 tons of gold. How was this possible? He sold gold on deposit from foreign countries and from bullion banks. A bullion bank can lease gold from the Bank of England or the Federal Reserve and sell it 3, 4 or even 5 times. Of course if the price of gold goes up, then they are technically obligated to replace the gold which is why they needed to drive the price down.   Continue reading “Mr King Had 300 Tons Of Gold. After Selling 1,350 Tons, He Still Had 300 Tons Of Gold.”

The American Free Market System At WorkThe Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder

How would America ever survive without the central planners in the Obama administration and at the Federal Reserve?  What in the world would we do if there was no income tax and no IRS?  Could the U.S. economy possibly keep from collapsing under such circumstances?  The mainstream media would have us believe that unless we have someone “to pull the levers” our economy would descend into utter chaos, but the truth is that the best period of economic growth in U.S. history occurred during a time when there was no income tax and no Federal Reserve.    Continue reading “During The Best Period Of Economic Growth In U.S. History There Was No Income Tax And No Federal Reserve”

us-military-psyop-social-mediaStory Leak – by Anthony Gucciardi

It has been common knowledge to anyone paying attention within the alternative news community for years, but once again the media is now admitting that the US military and intelligence agencies are indeed running massive propaganda campaigns that cover a vast array of online networks.

How many times now has such ‘conspiracy nonsense’ now been reported years later by the mega media as undeniable fact? In the case of the US intelligence propaganda machine that even the New York Times has covered in an article entitled ‘The Real War on Reality‘, we are seeing just that. The New York Times report goes on to detail information uncovered from hacked data regarding the military operation to stage ‘grassroots’ responses and organizations in order to deceive via psyop.  Professor of philosophy Peter Ludlow writes for the Times:   Continue reading “US Military Caught Manipulating Social Media, Running Mass Propaganda Accounts”
