Common Core: A Scheme to Rewrite EducationThe New American – by Alex Newman

If something is not done soon, the vast majority of American K-12 school children will be taught using dubious, federally backed national education “standards” that have come under fire from across the political spectrum. America’s kids, as well as their parents, will also be monitored and tracked in unprecedented ways from early childhood into the workforce. Opposition is growing by leaps and bounds, but government officials are not yet backing down.   Continue reading “Common Core: A Scheme to Rewrite Education”

Freedom Outpost – by Tim Brown

Dr. Orly Taitz has been pushing the Barack Obama eligibility issue for some time now. She has sought to go specifically through the court system and back in February she attempted to press the Supreme Court to move to oral arguments on Obama’s eligibility to hold the office of president of the United States. She is also one that questions the motives of Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Mike Zullo in their investigation. In June she presented additional information to the Superior Court of California in the Fourth District Court of Appeals in the case of Taitz v. Obama, Feinstein, Emken (The case number is G047746 and the Superior Court case number is 30-2012-00582135), in which she is seeking to have Barack Obama produce his registration record at Occidental College.    Continue reading “Whistleblower: Obama Was Indonesian Citizen & Given Financial Aid As Foreign Student At Occidental College”

Nuclear weapons have alternately been blamed for making the world less safe and making it more safe. As a grad school major in national security, I am personally of the opinion that nuclear weapons have kept the great powers from fighting a third and even fourth world war, since those who have them know they cannot “win” an all-out war without sustaining unacceptable damage themselves.

Indeed, good or bad, nuclear weapons became a cornerstone of national security policy during the Cold War, waged between the democratic governments of the West, led by the United States, against the communist and authoritarian governments of the East, led by the former Soviet Union. But did they have to be? What if someone in our own government helped our Cold War rival develop them?   Continue reading “History revisited: Top Roosevelt aide sent Stalin weapons-grade uranium to make bombs”

No action taken yet on Sweeny FID Bill or Fifty Caliber Ban.

This afternoon, Governor Christie announced that he signed 10 of the gun bills on his desk.  Two of those bills are helpful to gun owners, six are neutral in their impact on gun rights as a result of amendments based on gun owner input, and two were opposed by gun owners.   Continue reading “Governor Christie Signs 10 Gun Bills”

The question of what is reasonable under HOA regulations seems to have been answered, at least in the case of The Douglas County Housing Partnership and their reversal of a policy that was set to be imposed by Ross Management Group.

An emergency meeting of the housing authority was called in the wake of the outcry following a new notice to Oakwood Apartments in Castle Rock, Colorado which stipulated that owners would no longer be permitted to have guns in their residence as of October 1, 2013. Does the NSA really operate a vast database that allows its analysts to sift through millions of records showing nearly everything a user does on the Internet, as was recently reported? Yes, and people should stop worrying and learn to love it, according former NSA chief Gen. Michael Hayden.

Last week, the Guardian published a series of leaked documents revealing new details about an NSA surveillance program called XKEYSCORE. The newspaper said that the program enabled the agency to “search with no prior authorization through vast databases containing emails, online chats and the browsing histories of millions of individuals,” and secret slides dated 2008 showed how people could be deemed a target for searching the Web for “suspicious stuff” or by using encryption.   Continue reading “Former NSA Chief on Latest Leaked Dragnet Spy Program: It’s Real, and It’s Spectacular”

When will the breakdown of the system begin?

If you’ve been paying attention, then you’ll likely agree with contrarian economist Jim Willie. The breakdown is happening right here and now – it’s already in progress.

Most Americans haven’t realized it just yet, but everything including our economic, financial, monetary and political systems are in full meltdown mode. It was so bad in 2008, in fact, that Congressional members were warned that if they failed to stabilize the financial system there would be tanks in the streets.   Continue reading “Shortages Are Going to Drive People Out of Their Minds: “That’s When the Riots Will Start””

My intent is to discuss, in a scenario based format, the dilemma posed by the increased risk of armed home invasion and your potential responses to it. Firstly, let me lay out my assumptions for this discussion:

1) Current ‘Law Enforcement’ policy has seen the proliferation of co-called ‘SWAT’ teams. ‘SWAT’ refers to a ‘Special Weapons and Tactics’ Law Enforcement team. However, due to insufficient selection and training for these teams, there is little ‘special’ and ‘tactics’ about them. Thus, for the purpose of this discussion I will be referring to them as ‘Home Invasion Teams’ or HIT teams.     Continue reading “The Home Invasion Dilemma – Discussion & Scenarios”

One of the more surprising news to hit the tape yesterday was that Saudi Arabia, exasperated and desperate by Russia’s relentless support of the Syrian regime and refusal to abandon the Syrian army thus facilitating the Qatari plan to pass its natgas pipeline to Europe under Syria, had quietly approached Putin with a proposal for a huge arms deal and a pledge to boost Russian influence in the Arab world if only Putin would abandon Syria’s Assad.   Continue reading “Putin Laughs At Saudi Offer To Betray Syria In Exchange For “Huge” Arms Deal”
