A Houston-based physician and conservative activist is facing serious criminal charges following a 2020 incident tied to a botched voter fraud probe.
A grand jury handed down an indictment to Steven Hotze, MD, this week on felony charges of unlawful restraint and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to records from Harris County District Court. The charges stem from Hotze’s alleged involvement in an air-conditioning repairman being held at gunpoint during a search for hundreds of thousands of fraudulent mail ballots that actually didn’t exist. A video was posted on Reddit Thursday that appears to show a Tesla vehicle slowly crashing into a $3.5 million private jet after being “summoned” by its owner using the automaker’s automatic parking feature.
The Reddit user (who did not immediately respond to a request for comment) said the incident took place at an event sponsored by aircraft manufacturer Cirrus at Felts Field in Spokane, Washington. Only 32 percent of the winter wheat crop in the United States received a “good” or “excellent” rating from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), new reports show.
While this represents a slight increase of two points compared to a week ago, the figure is far behind 2021’s 53 percent rating, illustrating just how bad America’s wheat crop is due to persistent drought conditions in many areas. A Florida sheriff is encouraging residents to take gun safety courses after a homeowner frightened a prospective burglar by firing at them – saying that residents of the state are ‘more than welcome’ to shoot and kill intruders and that he would ‘prefer you do, actually.’
Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies caught Brandon J. Harris of Milton, 32, after his burglary spree in the town of Pace on Wednesday when he was cornered by officers after fleeing from an armed homeowner, Sheriff Bob Johnson said the next day at the press conference. Newly elected Mayor Brandon Scott will provide unconditional payments of $1,000 a month for two years to low-income families in Baltimore City’s new guaranteed income pilot program, according to local news WBAL.
According to a statement released by Scott’s office, the $1,000 monthly checks will be distributed to 200 low-income households across a metro area that struggles with violent crime and a broken economy thanks to decades of Democratic leadership. The top US law enforcement agency has warned of increased cyber attacks on agricultural cooperatives, saying hackers could target large-scale farms and potentially impact the world’s food supply.
