Armstrong Economics- by Martin Armstrong
The financial system is simply imploding because those running the affairs of government are more concerned about retaining power than providing economic stability. There are people who are so polarized on each side of many issues from hyperinflation, global elites, socialists hating the rich, communists who see capitalism as evil, and politicians who blame tax avoiders. There is so much polarization within society that there cannot be any solution for everyone has a fixed opinion and only they are right. This is then exemplified in government. They too only see their point of view and it is simply that they lack 100% control of everything (communism) and this is why it is failing. Continue reading “Bank Runs in Bulgaria”

As we know, President Putin has asked the Russian Federal Council, the Upper House of the Russian Parliament, to call off the March 1 resolution allowing the head of state to use the armed forces on the territory of Ukraine.
Poroshenko likes it and the West too can hardly want to “punish” Russia for this move or to introduce more sanctions. This sudden and, yes, unexpected move comes just a week or so after more Russian troops were moved back and now even unapologetically–to the borders with Ukraine. Continue reading “Why do Western leaders want to commemorate the beginning of World War I one month ahead and in Ypres out of all the places? Should we be worried?”

My wife and I were in Austin last week to visit some friends and family, and took a trip with my wife’s cousin and their family to Canyon Lake. This is between Austin and New Braunfels, and we took a trip down the Guadalupe river. A lot of people go there for a leisurely float down the river in innertubes. It was a nice sunny Saturday and the place was packed. The river ride was (way) too slow for my tastes; when I heard ‘river raft’, I had a distinctly different and more adventurous idea than the snails-pace at which the tube floated. Nevertheless, off we went. There are a lot of websites on Guadalupe River tubing and some pictures here, here, and here. If someone told you that your backyard may contain plants that could boost your immune system, improve your eyesight, relieve your upset stomach and help you fall asleep, would you believe them? Most people take for granted the fact that their yard, neighborhood or favorite spot in the woods are full of vegetation with therapeutic value.
However, Native Americans were quick to realize the value in plants. They have been practicing herbal therapy for thousands of years. Some believe that native medicine may be as old as 40,000 years old, although there was no early written language and nothing was documented until the Europeans arrived at the end of the 15th century. There is something particularly concerning about the “masked, sociopathic murderers” who fight for the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), writes former state department official Andrew G Doran for the National Review.
Some of them, he says, are Western citizens who have traveled to Syria to fight President Bashar Assad’s government – and have passports or other immigration paperwork that would allow them to return to their home countries whenever they want. Continue reading “ISIS militants with US passports?”

As thousands of people in Detroit go without water, and the city moves to cut off services to tens of thousands more, concerned organizations have taken the unusual step of appealing to the United Nations to intervene and protect the “human right to water.”
“After decades of policies that put businesses and profits ahead of the public good, the city now has a major crisis on its hands, said Maude Barlow, founder of Blue Planet Project and board chair of Food & Water Watch, in a statement. “By denying water service to thousands, Detroit is violating the human right to water.” Continue reading “Groups Appeal to UN for ‘Humanity’ as Detroit Shuts Off Water to Thousands”

After video surfaced showing Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania police were completely in the wrong when they ticketed an innocent man for not stopping at a stop sign despite his coming to a complete stop, Jefferson Hills Police Chief Gene Roach refused to admit the ticket was in error.
Despite withdrawing the ticket after the fraud was completely exposed, the chief defending his officer saying saying, “technically…the law says you stop at the stop sign, you move forward, stop again, until you can see that the intersection is clear and then you go.”

Well, most of us knew it was only a matter of time. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), an al-Qaida affiliate, made international headlines this week as they took over Mosul and now threaten Baghdad. ISIS, formerly Islamic State of Iraq, was started by a guy named Abu Musab al-Zarqawi (we waxed him during my first tour in 2006) under the name Jama’at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad. Sometime around 2004 or 2005, Zarqawi officially picked up the mantle of al-Qaida and later started the Islamic State of Iraq as an umbrella for several groups, each of which pushed to topple the US-backed Iraqi government, and eventually rid the State of Iraq of all Shia Muslims. That’s important to understand: with al-Qaida support, these groups formed a Sunni coalition to fight and expel Shias from Iraq. Continue reading “Why the Iraqi Civil War Matters to America”

The names, ages, and causes of death of all 796 children who died at St. Mary’s Home, in Tuam, Co. Galway from 1925 to 1960 have been published in full, below.
The list is long, and reading it is a horrifying, heartbreaking experience – though nowhere near as horrifying as the short lives of the children who died, or as heartbreaking as the sheer number of lost little lives. Continue reading “Death records for 796 children at Tuam home published in full”

Flags, Both True and False. My speech at Belchertown MA upon the occasion of Flag Day, 14 June 2014.
It is an honor for me to be here in Western Massachusetts today, in the shadow of the Springfield Armory, on ground trod by the men of Shay’s Rebellion, on this anniversary of Flag Day.
You know, as we stand here today in the Northeast, we are at ground zero of the greatest, the grimmest battle for Second Amendment rights in the country’s history since 1775. And it is appropriate that this is taking place on the same ground as the Founders struggled and fought and bled and died on. This is, to the rest of us in the country, wholly unexpected. We in the South and West long ago wrote off your states — Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York — as hopelessly overrun with collectivist nanny staters. And yet, since Sandy Hook, you have shown the rest of us how to fight, how to face the enemy, how to resist. In a very real sense you are behind enemy lines. And yet . . . Continue reading “Flags, Both True and False. My speech at Belchertown MA upon the occasion of Flag Day, 14 June 2014.”

Over the last few years people have seen ammunition prices double or triple.
Handgun and rifle ammunition has been hard to find at times. .22 long rifle ammunition tripled in price over the last 18 months. People would line up to buy ammunition at prices two and three times the level that they were just two years ago. Continue reading “A Crash in Ammunition Prices is Coming”
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, who lost his Republican congressional primary to Tea Party-backed Dave Brat in a shocking landslide Tuesday, is the highest-ranking Jew in the history of the U.S. Congress. As news of Cantor’s defeat spread, Jews on both sides of the aisle wrestled with what his defeat meant for American Jews in politics–and for Republican Jews in particular, who had long seen Cantor as a champion for their cause.
