Jose LaSalle of Copwatch Patrol Unit speaks at a Disarm NYPD event on March 21. (WNV/Ashoka Jegroo)Popular Resistance – by Ashoka Jegroo

A newly-formed group of activists are teaming up with Copwatch, an anti-police brutality group that records video of police conduct in their communities, to create “no-cop zones,” and maybe even disarm the police, through the use of direct action.

“Disarm NYPD” is a new collective seeking to immediately stop the New York Police Department from killing anyone ever again. The group seeks to monitor and pressure police, with the help of local communities and Copwatch groups, until they retreat from over-policed neighborhoods and then maintain these cop-free zones with alternative, community-based forms of conflict resolution. Along with that, the group also seeks the total disarmament of the police.    Continue reading “Group Organizing To Disarm And Displace NYPD”

As reported yesterday, the Hillary emailgate scandal took a turn for the worse and far more dramatic yesterday, when it was reported that not only did the former Secretary of State delete selected emails which in her opinion were “personal”, but that she then decided to wipe her home-server clean, a server which it is still unknown why she used when the US government itself was perfectly happy to host her email communication on far more secure, if FOIA-accessible, servers.   Continue reading “Republicans Blast Hillary: “Not Even Nixon Destroyed The Tapes””

Why do the American people allow and even condone and fund  the slaughter of those who mean us no harm? It is shameful for us to elect those that are tolerant of such human cruelties. This is not American in any form of the past and cannot be America’s future.

The year 2014 was a dangerous one to be a Palestinian. More Palestinians were killed by Israel than in any year since the occupation of Palestinian territories began in 1967.   Continue reading “Israelis Killed more Palestinians Last Year than in any Year since 1967”

United States Fun Map - Public DomainEnd of the American Dream – by Micheal Snyder

If you could live anywhere in America during the tumultuous years ahead, where would it be?  This is a topic that is hotly debated, and the truth is that there is not a single right answer.  If you have a very strong family support system where you are, it might not be right to try to move 2000 miles away and start a new life from scratch.  And for many Americans, moving is out of the question in the short-term because they are completely and totally dependent on employment in their local areas.  But in recent years we have seen an increasing number of Americans strategically relocate to another region of the country.  They can see our society breaking down and they can see the storm clouds on the horizon and they want to do what they can to prepare themselves and their families for what is ahead.  So is there a “best place to live” in the United States?  Are there some areas that are preferable to others?  The following are 9 maps to consider…   Continue reading “The Best Place To Live In The United States? Here Are 9 Maps To Consider”

Atacama Desert flooded after 7 years of rain fell in just 12 hoursThe Watchers – by Adonai

At least 10 people have been killed by catastrophic floods in northern regions of Chile after thunderstorms brought the equivalent of 7 years of rain in just 12 hours on March 26. Search and rescue operations are still in progress and authorities fear the number of casualties will rise. Flooding has affected the regions of Atacama, Antofagasta and Coquimbo, all located in the Atacama Desert, one of the driest regions of the world.

Heavy rainfall and consequent river overflow, flash floods and landslides knocked out power and communication lines, destroyed infrastructure and made roadways impassable.    Continue reading “Atacama Desert flooded after 7 years of rain fell in just 12 hours”

Holy shit.

The other day I wrote about how important the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) would be in determining the real cause of the crash of Germanwings flight 9525.

The FDR records vital information regarding all the systems on board the plane including the automatic pilot system as well as the security system for the entry to the cockpit.   Continue reading “Germanwings A320 Crash – Hollande Says FDR Memory Card “Missing””

Violent police are increasingly criticized for everything from killing dogs to shooting the homeless and beating the mentally ill. These abuses of power are disturbing and desperately need attention. One under-discussed problem with police accountability (or lack thereof), however, is police irresponsibility while driving.

Stories about drunk officers driving the wrong direction on freeways and hitting civilians or soberly ramming into pedestrians are not uncommon. This week alone, three cops caused mayhem and fatalities on the road.   Continue reading “The Epidemic of Police Misconduct that No One is Talking About”

Unaccompanied children crossing the southern border into the United States still number in the thousands, probably the tens of thousands, even though the percentages are lower, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson told Congress on Thursday.

“For the kids, unaccompanied kids, it’s running about 40 percent lower,” Johnson said. “I hope it stays that way, but we have to be prepared in the event it doesn’t.”   Continue reading “DHS Secretary: ‘Thousands’ of Unaccompanied Children Still Crossing Into U.S.”

The Pentagon lost track of sensitive equipment from a $750 million program to help U.S. soldiers spot roadside bombs — and some of it wound up for sale on eBay, Craigslist and other websites, according to a Navy intelligence document obtained by The Intercept.

The report went on to state that “more than 32,000 pieces of equipment were issued” under the program, and the items “are NOT for civilian use and are controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.” The devices went missing because the military units had poor control over equipment distributed to them, according to the intelligence brief.   Continue reading “True Story – U.S. Military Lost Equipment from $750 Million Program, Some Ended up on eBay and Craigslist”
