In what is as close to saying ‘trust us, we’re from the government,’ as it gets; President Obama’s traitor-identifying, blame-pointing, cover-your-assing speech on Friday has done nothing to end the supposedly “critical NSA counter-terrorism tool,” from being used on American citizens.People of America should be relieved, as the President stated unequivocally that he is “comfortable that the program is not being abused.” If only American citizens were able to see all the moving pieces, Obama implied, they would say “you know what? ‘Police State’ America continues to unfold as the pictures below of a Hartford, Connecticut drug bust show. A full blown paramilitary team showed up after someone called the police about the smell of someone smoking marijuana. Isn’t this just a bit of overkill, responding en masse like this to someone smoking a plant? It looks to me like how they’d be responding to the Boston Marathon bomber. Is this the ‘new America’ Barack Obama promised? A brand new video report about the unfolding police state in America is also below that asks the question we all want to know, “Is America becoming a ‘Police State’? Spying on protesters is the worst violation of our freedom.
She was an undercover cop who called herself “Missy.” When I first met her four years ago, I couldn’t have known that the small-framed woman with spiky brown hair and intense eyes was anything but a fellow activist showing up for a protest in Washington, D.C.
A “selfie” photo of Nicole Rizzi, a.k.a. “Missy,” posted to her own Twitter account on March 21, 2013. She posed as a protester at a Keystone XL pipeline demonstration that day.I certainly didn’t know she was actually Nicole Rizzi, an undercover cop ordered to secretly spy on peaceful protesters, violate our freedom of speech and assembly, and disregard our right to privacy. Excerpted from The New York Daily News: Activists rallying for the right to bear arms came face to face with Newtown’s grieving community on Friday—and neither side liked what they saw.
The two groups butted heads on Starbucks Appreciation Day at a coffee store less than two miles away from Sandy Hook Elementary School, where 26 children and educators lost their lives to gun violence in December. Should we roll out the red carpet and allow millions upon millions of thieves, rapists, gang members and drug dealers to come waltzing into this country any time they would like? Should we broadcast a message to the rest of the world that anyone that can find a way to enter this country and somehow get to a “sanctuary city” can sign up for a plethora of welfare benefits and live a life of leisure at the expense of hard working American citizens? In 2002, the late Solomon Burke recorded the album “Don’t Give up on Me.” Featured on that CD was a cut co-authored by Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil, and Brenda Russell entitled “None of us are Free.” The song was featured on the final episode of House, M.D.’s second season. I caught this about a week ago when one of the networks was doing a House marathon.
Solomon Burke is one of the best, but underrated, soul musicians of the 1960s. While he never had a Top 20 hit, his songs inspired a generation. This particular cut also features the Blind Boys of Alabama on back-up vocals. I particularly like the Hammond B3 organ parts and the fact this song in F minor ends on an F major chord. Today the President of the United States validated Edward Snowden’s role as a whistleblower by announcing plans to reform America’s global surveillance program. But rather than thank Edward Snowden, the President laughably attempted to criticize him while claiming that there was a plan all along, “before Edward Snowden.” The simple fact is that without Snowden’s disclosures, no one would know about the programs and no reforms could take place. As Thomas Jefferson so eloquently once stated, “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” Luckily for the citizens of the world, Edward Snowden is one of those “people of good conscience” who did not “remain silent”, just as Pfc Bradley Manning and Daniel Ellsberg refused to remain silent. It is time to bust the myths Sabet has been perpetuating.
Kevin Abraham Sabet-Sharghi, Ph.D., aka Kevin Sabet, has been a headline-grabbing right-winger ever since his U.C. Berkeley days—where he did not study science or medicine despite his current appointment as an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Florida. His most recent incarnation as a co-founder of Project SAM (Smart Approaches to Marijuana) follows a stint in the Obama White House on its drug policy staff from 2009-2011. His personal website claims he is the “quarterback” of a new anti-drug movement, boasting that he’s been“quoted in over 15,000 news stories.” Continue reading “5 Biggest Lies from Anti-Pot Propagandist Kevin Sabet”

Two years ago Joe Lozito was attacked by a serial killer in the NYC subway and suffered multiple stabbing wounds before taking the man down. According to Lozito, two NYPD police officers were standing within viewing distance and didn’t raise a hand to help him until after the the killer was disarmed. Then they arrested him and claimed credit for the apprehension.

Ethel Barrymore (1879-1959) was perhaps the most accomplished actress of her generation. It was Ms. Barrymore who said, “You grow up the day you have the first real laugh – at yourself.”
Do you remember your first real laugh at yourself? Mine came when I was about thirty years old.
Anyway, my maturing came after reading Gary Allen’s, None Dare Call It Conspiracy, and finally realizing there was no substantial difference, in practice, between the Democratic and Republican political parties. Continue reading “When Was Your First Chuckle … At Yourself?”
