e shooting stars have aligned for this weekend’s peak of the annual Geminid meteor shower: It’s arguably the best meteor display of the year — and it reaches its height during the heart of the weekend, late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

This year, the moon is at last quarter during the Geminids’ peak. That means the meteors will have to compete with a bit of moonshine during the wee hours, but things could be worse. Reading emails on your skin may sound wacky, but not for the French designers working on a bracelet that projects your smartphone content onto your arm. To turn the surreal Cicret device into reality, the designers are seeking funding.

A video explaining how the device works has gone viral, racking up 4,222,427 views on YouTube at the time of this article’s publication. MOSCOW — Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev called on Wednesday for a U.S.-Russia summit to be convened to prevent a deep freeze in Moscow’s relations with the West over the Ukraine crisis.

INDIANAPOLIS – Metro Police are investigating brutal attack on a 67-year-old Indianapolis woman left with serious injuries to her eye and face.
The attack happened around 7:00 Sunday night during an attempted carjacking in the 200 Block of Randolph Street.
