The Ontario County (N.Y.) Sheriff’s Department has confirmed the death of a sprint car driver that was hit by three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart in an incident Saturday night at the Canandaigua (N.Y.) Motorsports Park.

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — A law enforcement spokesman says a large crowd has confronted officers, yelling such things as “kill the police” after a police officer fatally shot a male in a St. Louis-area neighborhood.

St. Louis County Police spokesman Brian Schellman says shots were heard at the scene Saturday afternoon in Ferguson, a few miles north of downtown St. Louis. Schellman said “a couple hundred people” came out of nearby apartment buildings after a Ferguson officer shot the male. It’s been two and a half years since NYPD officers barged into the Bronx home of Ramarley Graham without a warrant, fatally shooting the unarmed teen in front of his grandmother and 6-year-old brother.

Writing at their blog, “I Support the Common Core,” lead Common Core math standards writers William McCallum and Jason Zimba claim that opponents of the education initiative have gotten the facts wrong on both the math standards themselves and their own comments about them.

A 19 year old mother of a 10 month old baby in Enigma, GA faced a terrifying situation earlier this week. Kayla Walker heard a noise at her back door on Tuesday afternoon just before 6:00pm. When she went to investigate, two men forced their way in the back door.

Kayla became involved in a physical fight with the men where she grabbed one of the suspect’s testicles and nearly managed to choke one of the men unconscious. However, that attempt was unsuccessful. How many kids in first world countries have likely heard their mom utter that phrase at the dinner table at least once? It may be an overused image, but that doesn’t make it any less valid. There really are lots of starving children in Africa.

While Ebola, the deadly disease spreading through parts of West Africa, has no cure, specific treatment or vaccine, there are several experimental drugs being tested in US labs. Now the FDA has lifted its hold on one of those drugs.

WEB Notes: Who funds ISIS? Where did ISIS get their weaponry including M16s? From the US government. John Kerry and others have admitted over and over again, the US government is funding the rebels in Syria. That would be ISIS. We have seen no other group as well funded, trained and equipped as ISIS who is taking over countries like there is no military in place. Look how easily ISIS has taken over chunks of Iraq including large cities and their largest dam. Consider how long the US led campaign against Iraq took years ago. How could it possibly take the US longer to conqueror portions of Iraq than ISIS? The terror group President Barack Obama threatened to strike in Iraq Thursday evening is itself threatening to strike the American homeland.
