The video below is part of the public comments during an emergency Moapa Valley Town Board Meeting regarding Cliven Bundy’s standoff with armed agents on his Nevada Ranch that has grazing rights on public land. A cowboy and friend of the Bundy family warns that this is much bigger than this ranch, and tells the Bureau of Land Management that if they fire the first shot, “we will fire the rest!”   Continue reading “Cowboy: ‘They’ll fire the next shot heard ’round the world, and WE will fire the rest!’”

Nevada Sheriff Tony DeMeo’s ‘Swat Team’ ~ Stops Federal Government: Feds Engaging In Illegal Confiscation Of Cattle And Water Rights Of County Property Owner.

Political Velcraft – October 19, 2011

In this 3-part video interview with Tony DeMeo, Sheriff of Nye County, Nevada, he explains that he is a Constitutional Sheriff and that authority for public office holders is derived from the people.  He tells the story about how he used the Constitution as his foundation in the saga of Nye County rancher Wayne Hage’s disputes over encroachments by the federal government.  While Wayne Hage’s case centered around property rights in federally managed lands, Sheriff Tony DeMeo’s example is relevant for everyone to understand the power of local government, the importance of following the Constitution and upholding the Tenth Amendment (states’ rights and sovereignty).   Continue reading “A Little History of BLM Rustling Cattle in Nevada”

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) said today that Americans need to stand up to “a deliberate plan by the president of the United States” to collapse the nation’s law enforcement system regarding illegal immigration.  There has been a 40 percent drop in interior deportations since 2009.   Continue reading “Sen. Tech Dirt – by Mike Masnick

During a recent House Judiciary Committee hearing concerning oversight, Rep. Zoe Lofgren decided to quiz Attorney General Eric Holder about the federal government’s surveillance efforts, starting off with a rather simple question. She notes that the bulk phone record collection program is considered to be legal by its supporters, based on Section 215 of the Patriot Act, which allows for the collection of “business records.” So, she wonders, is there any legal distinction between phone records and, say, internet searches or emails? In other words, does the DOJ believe that it would be perfectly legal for the US government to scoop up all your search records and emails without a warrant? Holder clearly does not want to answer the question, and first tries to answer a different question, concerning the bulk phone records program, and how the administration is supposedly committed to ending it. But eventually he’s forced to admit that there’s no legal distinction:   Continue reading “Eric Holder Admits That, If It Wanted, NSA Could Collect Internet Searches & Emails Just Like Phone Metadata”

The Dana Show

By now you’re familiar with the standoff between the federal government, i.e. the Bureau of Land Management, and 67 year-old rancher Cliven Bundy. (If not, check the backstory and my radio interview with him here.) The BLM asserts their power through the expressed desire to protect the endangered desert tortoise, a tortoise so “endangered” that their population can no longer be contained by the refuge constructed for them so the government is closing it and euthanizing over a thousand tortoises. The tortoises, the excuse that BLM has given for violating claims to easements and running all but one lone rancher out of southern Nevada, is doing fine. In fact, the tortoise has lived in harmony with cattle in the Gold Butte, Clark County Nevada for over a hundred years, or as long as Cliven Bundy’s family has lived on the land as ranchers. In fact, the real threat to it is urbanization, not cattle.   Continue reading “The Real Story Behind The Bundy Ranch Harassment”

Canada Free Press – by Judi McLeod

History is repeating itself on the Bundy Ranch, near Bunkerville, Nevada, where the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) spends its time and resources on “trespassing” cows.

Hardworking generation rancher Cliven Bundy—the last remaining rancher in the Southern Nevada county—is not the first and tragically won’t be the last American harassed by an overbearing, invading BLM.   Continue reading “Federal Government seizing “trespassing” cows from hard-working ranchers”
