People attending a House Rules Committee hearing on Saturday evening burst into laughter when Rep. Jim McGovern (D.-Mass.) affirmed to House Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers (R.-Ky.) that President Barack Obama, by threatening to veto a continuing resolution to fund the government past Monday if it includes a House amendment to delay Obamacare, has thus “drawn a red line” on the  CR.

Between 2001 and 2006, the United Nations Human Rights Council sanctioned Israel more than any other nation on the planet. According to the Israeli Newspaper Hareetz, Israel has broken more UN resolutions than any other country in history. A shocking statistic considering that the US vetoes most resolutions unfavorable to Israel. In 1975, the UN passed resolution 3379 (by a vote of 72-35 with 32 abstentions) which declared that the entire premise behind the foundation of Israel: Zionism, is actually racism and racial discrimination. The Senate Intelligence Committee yesterday held a hearing, ostensibly to investigate various issues raised about the NSA‘s activities. What the hearing primarily achieved instead was to underscore what a farce the notion of Congressional oversight over the NSA is.

In particular, the current chair of the Senate Committee created in the mid-1970s to oversee the intelligence community just so happens to be one of the nation’s most steadfast and blind loyalists of and apologists for the National Security State: Dianne Feinstein.
