Fingerprint scanning devices are used in schools and colleges at canteens and to monitor attendanceDaily Mail – by ANDREW LEVY

Up to a quarter of schools are taking pupils’ fingerprints – in many cases without telling parents, civil liberties campaigners claimed last night.

More than a million children have had them taken at schools where fingerprint-reading equipment is used in canteens and at registration to save time for staff.

The technology allows teachers – and some parents with online access – to monitor whether a child has turned up at school, what classes they have attended, the food they have eaten and the library books they borrow.   Continue reading “More than 1million children have fingerprints taken at school, often without their parents’ knowledge”

America has an odd way of making smart people stupid.

I went to a college full of people who were bright on paper. I was friends with people who were at the top of their classes, in classes chock full of smart people. Yet if you talked to these people about anything beyond their narrow field of expertise, they knew nothing. And not only did they know nothing, they had no desire to know more than nothing; even a subject of wide appeal like human nature wouldn’t get their interest. They were philistines in every area of human thought, except their own – and that too bored them. Political science majors would squint in confusion when you asked them about political philosophy, as if you had asked them how to refine uranium into fissile plutonium.   Continue reading “How America Makes Smart People Stupid”

A series of new reports show that state and local police have been busy collecting data on our daily activities as well — under questionable or nonexistent legal pretenses. These revelations about the extent of police snooping in the U.S. — and the lack of oversight over it — paint a disturbing picture for anyone who cares about civil liberties and privacy protection.

The tactics used by law enforcement are aggressive, surreptitious and surprising to even longtime surveillance experts.  One report released last month made front page news: an investigation by more than 50 journalists that found that local law enforcement agencies are collecting cellphone data about thousands of innocent Americans each year by tapping into cellphone towers and even creating fake ones that act as data traps.   Continue reading “How local police departments are spying on us”

NEW YORK — Disbarred civil rights attorney Lynne Stewart was released from a federal prison in Texas on Tuesday more than four years into a 10-year sentence after a judge ordered a compassionate release because of her terminal breast cancer.

But Stewart, who was convicted of providing material support to the terrorist Omar Abdel-Rahman by transmitting a message from him to Reuters in 2005, might have been freed long ago if she hadn’t continued to speak out after she was first sentenced.   Continue reading “Lynne Stewart Got 92 Extra Months In Prison For Saying This”

Did you know that when a person receives the “FluMist” flu vaccine that anyone around them becomes exposed to the flu as the recipient “sheds” the viruses contained within the vaccine?  With all of the propaganda about how you MUST be vaccinated in order to protect those around you, you’d think that they would warn people who receive this vaccine that they’ve just become the most contagious person in the room, particularly if the person has been browbeaten into receiving the vaccine to “protect” a loved one with a lowered immune system.

This video found via Activist Post, tells of one family’s experience with a FluMist vaccine that was given to their child after the doctor guilted them into it:   Continue reading “Did You Know that Nasal Flu Vax Recipients Can Pass the Flu to Everyone Around Them for Up to 21 Days?”

WEB Notes: We present this story with great caution. The final paragraph is very disturbing. However, if the particles were that “hot” more than just the West Coast of the United States would be affected. There is no doubt this is a dangerous situation, but we know our Father who sits on the Throne is in control.

The 52 people transported off of a stranded research ship in the Antarctic will have to wait a little longer to begin their journey home, as the Australian icebreaker carrying them has been advised that it may be needed to help a Chinese vessel also involved in the rescue effort.

Chinese polar resupply ship Xue Long (Snow Dragon), which provided the helicopter used to transport scientists and passengers from the MV Akademik Shokalskiy to the Aurora Australis Thursday, is now concerned that it could also become trapped in the heavy sea ice, Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) officials told CNN.com early Friday morning.   Continue reading “Chinese Ship Involved In Antarctic Rescue May Also Become Stranded”

Yes, it’s that magical time of year again when the Darwin Awards are bestowed, honoring the least evolved among us.

Here Is The Glorious Winner:

1. When his .38 caliber revolver failed to fire at his intended victim during a hold-up in Long Beach, California would-be robber James Elliot did something that can only inspire wonder. SAN FRANCISCO –  The California Supreme Court granted a law license Thursday to a man who has lived in the U.S. illegally for two decades, a ruling that advocates hope will open the door to millions of immigrants seeking to enter other professions such as medicine, accounting and teaching.

Incredible. For residents of LA County who seek energy independence, you are a target.

Antelope Valley is a significant stretch of desert on the fringe of LA County, and its rugged off-grid individualists are under attack. In the name of “code violations”, armed government ‘NATS’ goon squads are targeting solar energy homes with steep administration charges and fines – and in many cases, forcing lawful residents from their homes (see videos below).   Continue reading “LA County Government’s Attack on Solar Powered Homes”

The times, they are a changin’, and in Denver, you can tell by the smoke signals.

Not even the full power of the feared federal government can quash the ingenuity and free enterprise that runs through the veins of American entrepreneurs.

Take, for example, the national ban on incandescent light bulbs in favor of low-energy units. Seventy-five watt and higher incandescent bulbs dropped off store shelves a year ago, and the popular 40s and 60s will disappear Jan. 1.   Continue reading “American Ingenuity Bypasses Incandescent Ban”
