SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oregon Democrats are taking the first step toward requiring background checks on private gun sales.

A bill introduced on Thursday could begin moving through the Legislature as soon as next week.

Gun control advocates have tried for years to expand Oregon’s background check requirement. With expanded Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate following last year’s election, the bill now has much stronger prospects.   Continue reading “Oregon Dems introduce gun background checks bill”

When Crimea will ask to be accepted back into Ukraine (like, actually, it was in 1954 – due to hunger), the Ukrainians won’t celebrate this. Instead, they will roll up their sleeves and will start to repair everything that was broken by Moscow.

Like, actually, it was in 1954.   Continue reading “The Verkhovnaya Rada wants to have an election in Crimea”

People in the USA, are being told by the U.S. government and media that global warming is man-made.  If that is true, how can the government and media explain the high temperatures the earth has experienced in past years when there were far fewer people?  Let us look back in the world’s history: for example, between roughly 900AD and 1350AD the temperatures were much higher than now.  And, back then there were fewer people, no cars, no electric utilities, and no factories, etc. So what caused the earth’s heat?  Could it be a natural occurrence?  The temperature graph, shown below, shows the temperatures of the earth before Christ to 2040.   Continue reading “Why There Is Global Warming”

McFashionNutritional Anarchy – by Lisa Egan

If you live in Sweden, this is your lucky day!

Everybody’s favorite fast food leviathan is spreading its tentacles out of the garbage grub industry and into new territory. Alas, Swedes are the only ones who can get the goods right now.

Earlier this week, McDonald’s launched an online boutique featuring bed sheets, wallpaper, raincoats, rubber rain boots, a jacket for dogs, and (my personal favorite) thermal underwear emblazoned with Big Macs.   Continue reading “McFashion: We’re Not Lovin’ It”

Have a Nice Big Glass of Round-up with this Monsanto LobbyistNutritional Anarchy

You all know that we here at Nutritional Anarchy are adamantly opposed to toxic farming methods like the use of Round-Up killer.

But little did we know that it is apparently so safe you could drink an entire quart of it and live to tell the tale. Apparently according to a former Greenpeace-activist-turned-Monsanto-lobbyist (there’s gotta be a heck of a story in how that particular occupational transition occurred), it wouldn’t hurt you at all. (You can read Patrick Moore’s bio HERE, and wonder with us exactly how much it costs Monsanto to buy themselves their very own environmentalist.)   Continue reading “Mmmm…Have a Nice Big Glass of Round-up with this Monsanto Lobbyist…Oh…Wait”

Police have found a torn sick leave note for the date of the crashed Germanwings flight in the home of Andreas Lubitz, suspected of voluntarily bringing the plane down, Dusseldorf prosecutors say.

Prosecutors believe Lubitz could have been concealing his illness from the company.

“Documents with medical contents were confiscated that point towards an existing illness and corresponding treatment by doctors,” said the Prosecutors’ Office in Dusseldorf, Reuters reports.   Continue reading “Germanwings co-pilot ‘hid illness,’ medical leave note from employers – prosecutors”

Badass of the Week

William Ewart Fairbairn is one of the most badass martial arts masters the world has ever seen. In addition to developing the basis for the martials arts systems used by cops and special forces across the globe, he also invented the SWAT Team, came up with the idea of riot police, invented the police officer’s tactical bullet-proof vest, and created the knife that was used by the SAS, Army Rangers, and Marine Raiders in World War II. He also survived over 600 non-training street fights in his lifetime as a police officer and was allegedly covered from face to ankle in scars from knife wounds he received in life-or-death battles with dirtbag criminal scumbags on the streets of Shanghai.   Continue reading “Badass of the Week: William E. Reid's involvement highlights the seriousness of the problem he may have dealing with a member in his ranks who’s expected to be indicted within weeks.Breitbart – by MICHAEL PATRICK LEAHY

Details in this week’s Department of Homeland Security’s Inspector General’s report reveal only part of the story behind Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) abuse of his political office in 2012 and 2013. Through a brazen intervention, Reid ultimately forced the Department of Homeland Security to bend to his will in a way that benefited his political allies and family.

The report concluded that Reid pressured a compliant DHS official to override normal departmental procedures and rush through 230 EB-5 foreign visa applications, thereby freeing up $115 million the applicants invested in the SLS Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The report did not, however, reveal the now confirmed fact that the owner of that casino project had hired Reid’s son, Rory Reid, to provide legal representation for the project.   Continue reading “Harry Reid Pressured DHS to Expedite $115 Million Foreign Investors EB-5 Visa Deal Critical to Son’s Casino Client”
