Here’s what it looks like in Greece today, after a weekend in which the government walked away from negotiations with creditors and declared a referendum on debt-holder demands for this Sunday: Banks are closed, and there are lines outside ATMs, where withdrawals from a Greek account are limited to just 60 euros.

That’s if there is still money in the ATM.  Continue reading “7 photos that sum up what it looks like in Greece today”

After sunset on Decision Day, the White House is awash in rainbow light tonight, and the rainbow revolution has spread to the other coast and overseas.

And, cue the camera phones! Here’s a roundup of what Twitter users have so far found being illuminated in rainbow spirit after today’s marriage ruling. It isn’t often that honest people receive detailed intelligence about a planned gathering of violent men who steal for a living and kill with impunity. An event of that kind will occur from August 10-12th here in Idaho.

In fact, I can provide the specific address of the armed robbers’ summit — 700 South Stratford Drive in Meridian. The location is conspicuously marked and easy to find: It is the Idaho Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Academy, which will host a two-day session of Desert Snow’s “Phase 2015” asset forfeiture workshop.   Continue reading “Road Pirates — Assemble! “Desert Snow” is Coming to Idaho”

Attorney and public banking expert Ellen Brown says the recent Obama trade deal is bad news.

Brown contends, “We don’t even know how bad it is.  All we know we got out of WikiLeaks.

It’s all secret.  They are negotiating what would be called a treaty which should require a two-thirds vote under the Constitution.

They are negotiating it for “fast-track” and it is completely secret. . . . Continue reading “We Now Have a Government of the Corporations, by the Corporations and for the Corporations”

It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from its government – Thomas PaineMilitia News – by Lawrence Sellin, Ph.D.

The United States no longer has, as the Constitution designed, a government composed of executive, legislative and judicial branches, separate, but equal in power.

The federal government is now an alliance of branches, devoted to the preservation of government itself, separate, not from each other, but from the American people and dedicated to tyranny.   Continue reading “America’s only remaining choices – Civil Disobedience or Collapse”

Remember back when newspapers were considered the leading defenders of the First Amendment and free speech? Apparently that’s over. Newsday (the newspaper I grew up reading) has an editorial up by Anne Michaud (the publication’s “interactive editor”) in which she argues for adismantling of the First Amendment when it comes to “hate speech.” These kinds of arguments have become popular again lately (in fact, many in the US seem to think that hate speech isalready not protected under the First Amendment). Michaud’s piece starts out by highlighting how she, herself, explored the white supremacist world a few years ago:   Continue reading “Newsday Editor: Carve Hate Speech Out Of First Amendment, Hold Websites Responsible If Users Post Hate Speech”

The Supreme Court upheld by 5-4 the usage of a sedative called midazolam in drug cocktails used for death penalties in several states. Death row inmates argued the drug failed to block pain and suffering, leading to ‘cruel and unusual’ executions.

Justice Alito delivered the court’s opinion, joined by judges Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas and Chief Justice Roberts. According to the majority, it is “settled that capital punishment is constitutional,” and therefore there has to be a constitutional method of carrying it out.   Continue reading “Supreme Court upholds lethal injections”

I’m no military expert, but why would anyone who escaped from a prison
walk along any road where they could easily be spotted?  Oh, that’s
right, it’s the same old script being used time and again.

BOSTON (AP) — Former Boston crime boss James “Whitey” Bulger had some advice for three high school girls who wrote to him for a history project: Crime doesn’t pay.

The 85-year-old sent the handwritten letter, dated Feb. 24, from federal prison in Florida where he is serving two life sentences, The Boston Globe (http://bit.ly/1ID2mrE ) reported Sunday. “My life was wasted and spent foolishly, brought shame and suffering on my parents and siblings and will end soon,” Bulger wrote.   Continue reading “Imprisoned mobster pens advice to teens”

History books, the media, the school systems, etc., all abound in
falsehoods and inaccuracies of Confederate and Southern history. This
fact sheet will help to clarify and dispel some of these rampant
inaccuracies.

MYTH – The War of 1861 – 1865 was fought over slavery.

FACT – Terribly untrue. The North fought the war over money. Plain and simple. When the South started Secession, Lincoln was asked, “Why not
let the South go in peace?” To which he replied, “I can’t let them go.
Who would pay for the government?” Sensing total financial ruin for the
North, Lincoln waged war on the South. The South fought the War to repel
Northern aggression and invasion.   Continue reading “The myths and facts about the Confederate flag.”
