The Fairfax County (Va.) district has changed its policy regarding the naming of schools, which could lead to changes at schools named for Confederate generals.

The Washington Post reports that students, community members and alumni in Fairfax County have been urging the school system to change the names of two high schools named for Confederate generals — J.E.B. Stuart and Robert E. Lee — and a third named for a past superintendent, W.T. Woodson, who was an opponent of desegregation.   Continue reading “Policy change could alter Confederate-linked school names in Fairfax County, Va.”

San Diego, CA — A judge ordered the release on Tuesday of surveillance videos that captured San Diego Police Officer Neal Browder shooting a mentally ill homeless veteran to death. The unarmed man had been diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and PTSD after serving in the Afghan army and being held captive for two months by a Mujahideen group.

On April 30, Officer Browder responded to a call concerning a homeless man harassing people in a parking lot. Newly released surveillance videos show Browder pull up in his cruiser to confront 42-year-old Fridoon Rawshan Nehad. Social media is still exploding about the first reports describing the assailants in the December 2, 2015 San Bernardino shooting and the actual assailants killed in a shoot-out with police. What’s being discussed is how the two don’t match up and the identity and whereabouts of the mysterious third assailant (1).

The original reports coming out of the scene where 14 people were murdered and 21 injured described three tall, athletically built, white men dressed in military black. This description was given by Sally Abdelmageed who works at the Inland Regional Center. She spoke over the phone with CBS reporter Scott Pelley (2).   Continue reading “Countless Loose Ends in San Bernardino Shooting Raises Red Flags”

People have this tendency to assume that their government is a united front. They think the courts, police departments, military command, political class, and god knows how many alphabet soup agencies, are all in it together. They’re all on “team government” so to speak.

In reality, that’s simply not the case, and it becomes less true as the government grows in size. If you examine any large, top-down organization, you will find that it is riddled with rivalries at every level. The DEA probably hates the ATF. The CIA hates the FBI, and the local police departments can’t stand the FBI.   Continue reading “Pentagon Has Been Secretly Helping Assad”

Concealed handgun permits held by residents of 25 states will no longer be valid in Virginia, the state’s attorney general said Tuesday, drawing swift criticism from GOP lawmakers.

Attorney General Mark Herring, a Democrat, said the state will revoke its reciprocity agreement with the states because their concealed weapon laws don’t meet Virginia’s standards. Those states hand out permits to people who are barred under the Virginia law, like fugitives, convicted stalkers and drug dealers, which undermines the state’s law and puts residents at risk, he said.   Continue reading “Virginia revokes handgun permit agreement with 25 states”

If you want to know how the “so called” Free Trade exponents think about exports, just analyze the impact and actual beneficiaries of the US House passes bill to lift 40-year ban on oil exports.

“The crude export restrictions were introduced in the US in 1975 in the middle of the energy crisis. They followed OPEC’s oil embargo of the US and other countries backing Israel during the Arab–Israeli war of 1973. In the face of embargo-related high oil prices, Washington eased the limits on oil imports and ordered an export ban.”   Continue reading “Congress Eliminates Export Oil Ban”

Oceania, China — As if further proof were needed Orwell’s dystopia is now upon us, China has now gamified obedience to the State. Though that is every bit as creepily terrifying as it sounds, citizens may still choose whether or not they wish to opt-in — that is, until the program becomes compulsory in 2020. “Going under the innocuous name of ‘Sesame Credit,’ China has created a score for how good a citizen you are,” explains Extra Credits’ video about the program. “The owners of China’s largest social networks have partnered with the government to create something akin to the U.S. credit score — but, instead of measuring how regularly you pay your bills, it measures how obediently you follow the party line.”   Continue reading “China Just Launched the Most Frightening Game Ever — and Soon It Will Be Mandatory”
