New Haven Superior Judge Jon Blue agreed to suppress evidence in an ATM robbery case, saying it was the result of Connecticut State Police improperly asking in advance to receive periodic live updates from the phone company of the location of the suspect’s cellphone. SAN FRANCISCO (CN) – A new policy issued in the wake of the shooting death of Mario Woods earlier this month requires San Francisco police officers to justify pointing their firearms at an individual for any reason.

A recent successful hacking of three ISIS supporters’ Twitter accounts has revealed that the source of these accounts is not located in Syria or Iraq but in the UK and Saudi Arabia.
According to a report by the UK Mirror, a group of four hackers known as VandaSec hacked the ISIS accounts and linked them back to the Department of Work and Pensions in the UK. Indeed, according to the hackers, the accounts are being run from Internet addresses that can be traced back to the DWP. The man suspected of supplying the San Bernardino, California shooters with assault rifles was arrested by federal officers on Thursday and charged with conspiring to commit crimes of terrorism dating back to 2011.

When Paul Ryan was handed the speaker’s gavel in late October, he pledged to restore normal order to the People’s House and eliminate the sort of backroom deals that rank-and-file members complain are shoved down their throats at the 11th hour. So, late Tuesday night, Ryan unveiled a few thousand pages of consequential tax, spending, and regulatory legislation costing roughly $2 trillion and gave Congress and the public two whole days to review everything. On December 16, satirist Dan Joseph released “The Gun Control Song,” mocking President Obama’s habit of responding to high-profile shootings by calling for more gun control while “blood is still fresh on the ground.”
Joseph uses the song to address Obama’s habit of politicizing tragedy—for the purposes of pushing gun control—by calling for gun controls that would not have stopped the shootings in the first place. He also points out the hypocrisy of using the behavior of criminals as a springboard for new laws on law-abiding citizens and points to the foolishness of pretending criminals—who already ignore gun control—could somehow be constrained by more of it.
