This week, while testifying before a House panel about the Secret Service budget, the director of the Secret Service Joseph Clancy asked Congress to give his agency $8 MILLION DOLLARS to build a replica of the White House so the agents can have a “more realistic training experience.”

Currently, Clancy told lawmakers their training is hampered by the lack of a good reproduction of the White House. He says training is now done in a parking lot but the parking lot doesn’t have the bushes and fountains as the White House grounds do.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Bob Kastenmeier, a liberal Democrat from Wisconsin whose 32 years in Congress were marked by his early and staunch opposition to the Vietnam War, died Friday. He was 91.

Kastenmeier, a World War II veteran who represented the liberal Madison area starting in 1959, had been suffering from heart problems and died at his home in Arlington, Virginia, said his wife Dorothy. MOSCOW (AP) — Russia tightened its control Wednesday over a second breakaway region of Georgia, with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leader of South Ossetia signing a new treaty that calls for nearly full integration.

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili denounced the signing as a “destructive” move against his nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and said it would further exacerbate tensions. A federal judge sharply scolded a Justice Department attorney at a hearing on President Obama’s immigration executive actions, suggesting that the administration misled him on a key part of the program — and that he fell for it, “like an idiot.”

The testy court hearing was held Thursday in Texas by U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen.
