Congressmen in Brazil, one of the most violent countries in the world, are proposing to dramatically loosen restrictions on personal gun ownership, bringing the country much closer to the American right to bear arms.

The politicians say the measures are necessary to allow embattled citizens the right to defend themselves from criminals armed with illegal weapons. But opponents say the move will only increase the country’s toll of nearly 60,000 murders in 2014.   Continue reading “Brazil Seeks To Copy U.S. Gun Culture “to allow embattled citizens the right to defend themselves from criminals”

Starbucks’ decision to stay “holiday neutral” on their cups this year has been a point of contention and a heated conversation over the past few days, agitating many to believe that this decision marked an intentional “war on Christmas” (see: Red Cup Controversy).

According to Jeffrey Fields, VP of Starbucks, the concept was for the holiday cups to be a blank canvas, allowing customers to create their own stories, “inspired by the doodles and designs that customers have drawn on white cups for years.” “In the past, we have told stories with our holiday cups designs,” Jeffrey explained. “This year we wanted to usher in the holidays with a purity of design that welcomes all of our stories.”   Continue reading “Starbucks Cup Controversy & The Hidden Meaning Of The Starbucks Logo”

In 1950, Senator Pat McCarran said to me, “If the American people ever find out what the Jews are doing to them, they won’t leave a Jew alive from coast to coast.” An official of the American Jewish Congress said “We must never lose sight of the fact that the only thing preventing pogroms in the United States today is our watchful control over the channels of communication.” And in 1977 a Jewish columnist wrote, “We have been overthrown by the television show Roots, as many whites have been inculcated with feelings of shame, fear and guilt by this revelation of black history. This should warn us that we are sitting on a powder keg, if unfriendly elements should be allowed the chance to present the Jews in an unfavourable light on television. The success of Roots must reinforce our determination to deny native fascist elements any and all opportunities to use the media to spread their poison to impressionable Americans.”   Continue reading “Boycott – The Jewish Weapon”

Following his brief speech at a demonstration against police brutality last month, director Quentin Tarantino has experienced a backlash from police unions. In particular, Fraternal Order of Police executive director Jim Pasco issued vaguely worded threats about surprising Tarantino and harming him economically. Perhaps he’s bluffing. But threats from police, even nonviolent ones, against a private citizen who has broken no law are totally unacceptable. Pasco highlights just how paranoid and reactionary police culture has become.   Continue reading “There is no war on cops: Police threats against Tarantino are totally unacceptable”

The Kremlin has confirmed “some secret data” was accidentally leaked when Russian TV stations broadcast material apparently showing blueprints from a nuclear torpedo, designed to be used against enemy coastal installations.

During President Vladimir Putin’s meeting with military officials in Sochi, where the development of Russia’s military capabilities were being discussed, a number of TV crews were able to capture footage of a paper that was certainly not meant for public viewing.   Continue reading “‘Assured unacceptable damage’: Russian TV accidentally leaks secret ‘nuclear torpedo’ design”
